- (He - Ha):
የግእዝ ወራሽ ለሩቅ ወንድና ሴት፤ ግእዙ ለወንድ፤ ራብዑ ለሴት ትራስ እየኾነ በተጸውዖ ስም ሲገባ፥ ወደ ይኾና: Ge'ez inheritance for distant men and women; Ge'ez is for men; the fourth (letter) is the head for women, and when it enters with a calling name, it becomes N. ርኢ አዳም ወሔዋን : See Adam He and Eve Ha.
መጣፍ ግን በጣፎች ስሕተት ወንድና ሴት ሳይለይ ለኹሉም ራብዑን ብቻ ያንባል።ዘካርያስ ወኤልሳቤጥ : The text, however, by the mistake of the scribes, reads only the fourth (letter) for all, without distinguishing between men and women. Zechariah Ha and Elizabeth Ha.
ሃሌታ ሊጣፍ የሚገባው በግእዝ ሲኾን፤ ሃሌተ ተብሎ በራብዕ እንዲጣፍ ይህም እንደዚያ ነው: The "Ha" that should be written in Ge'ez () , so that it is written as ()/ha in the fourth order, is also like that.

- (He - A) ( ):
የግስ ዐመል፤ የራብዕ የሳድስ ሥረይ: Verb usage; the replacement of the fourth and sixth order.
የአንፍች እይ፤ ከዚህ ጋራ አንድ ነው: See Anfech; it is one with this.
፪ኛም (ዕር፪ ፡ቍ፲፬): 2nd also (Ere 2: Verse 14).

ሀሀርኤል (Haharel):
ምሥዋዕ፤ የምሥዋዕ ስም፤ ደብረ አምላክ ማለት ነው: Sacrifice; name of a sacrifice; it means Mountain of God. (Ezekiel 43:15).
አሪኤልንና አርያልን እይ፤ ከዚህ ጋራ አንድ ነው: See Ariel and Arial; it is one with this.

ሀለወ (Halewe):
ጠበቀ: He guarded. – ኀሊው ኀለወ (ḫaliw ḫalewe).

ሀለየ (Haleye):
ዘፈነ: He sang. – ሐልይ ሐለየ (haliye haleye).

ሀለደ (Halede):
ጨረሰ: He finished. – ኀልዶ ኀለደ (ḫildo ḫalede).

ሀሊል (Halil):
(ሀለየ ሐልል ይህልል። ዕብ. ሐሎል ሄል) ማወደስ ማመስገን፤ መየበብ መዝፈን: (Haleye halil yihille. Heb. Halol Hel) To praise, to give thanks; to beautify, to sing.

ሀላ (Hala):
ሀሊባ፤ድንኳን፤ኦሆላ ኦሆሊባ: Haliba; - tent; - Ohola Oholiba.

ሀላዊ (Halawi):
(ዊት ውያን ያት) የሚኖር ነዋሪ፤ ዃኝ: (Wit Wuyan Yat) Living, resident; being.
ነፍስሰሀላዊትይእቲወኢትትዌለጥ (ፈላስ): "Nefs se Halawit yieti we ititwelet" (Philos.): "The soul is existent and does not change". (Philosopher).

ሃሌ (Hale):
(ሀሌ።ዕብ. ሃሌል) ሃሌታ፤ ስብሐት ውዳሴ፤ መዝሙር ግናይ፤ ቅኔ ሐዲስ ምስጋና፤ መዘምራን ሃሌ ሃሌ ብለው የሚመሩት፤ በሃሌታ የሚዠምሩት: (Hale. Heb. Hallel) Haleta; glory, praise; hymn, song; new poem, thanksgiving; what the singers lead by saying "Hale Hale"; what they begin with "Haleta."
አንቀጽ ሃሌታ እንዲሉ: Like saying "Anqets Haleta" (Section Haleta).
(ተረት) መዝሙር በሃሌ፤ ነገር በምሳሌ፤ ጠጅ በብርሌ: (Proverb) A hymn with Hale; a matter with a parable; wine in a glass.
ሃሌታና እልልታ በምስጢር አንድ ነው፤ አለለን ተመልከት: Haleta and Elelta are one in mystery; see Alelen.

ሃሌሉያ (Hallelujah):
(ዕብ. ሃልሉያህ) ዕብ. ሑእግዚአ፤ ሃልሉ ስብሑ፤ ያህ እግዚእ አምላክ: (Heb. Hallelujah); Heb. Hu Igzi'a; Hallu Sibhu; Yah Igzi'e Amlak.
ወርኀ ሃሌሉያ (ዘፀ፲፫ ፡፬): Month of Hallelujah (Exodus 13:4).

() ሀልዎዎት (Halewot):
(ሀለወ፤ ሀሎ፤ ይሄሉ የሀሉ።ዕብ. ሀያህ) መኖር መገኘት፤ መኾን መፈጠር: (Halewe; Halo; Yehelu Yehallu. Heb. Hayah) To exist, to be found; to be, to be created.
ኮነንና መጽአን ተመ፤ የዚህ አግዋር ናቸው: Consider Kone and Metsa; these are its opposites.
እግዚአብሔር አምጻኤ ኵሉ ዓለም እምኀበ ኢሀልዎ ኀበ ሀለዎ: "God, the creator of the whole world, from where it did not exist, to where it exists."
ሀለወ ወኢሀለወ: He existed and did not exist.
ዘሀሎ ወይሄሉ: He who exists and will exist.
ወሀሎ አሐዱ ብእሲ፤ አለ ኖረ ነበረ: And there was a man; he was, he lived, he remained. (Philos. Rev 17:8; 1:4; John 3:1).

ሀሙዒዳ (Hamu'ida):
(ዕብ. ሃሞዔድ) ዕድሜ የተወሰነ ጊዜ ወራት፤ የበዓል የቀጠሮ ቀን: (Heb. Hamoed) Age, fixed time, months; festival, appointment day.
ሄዔ ኪር ሀሙዒዳ (ኤር፵፮ ፡፲፯): Hee Kir Hamu'ida (Jeremiah 46:17).
ባለብሉዮች ግን ሰባራምቱረ ሥርው ፈሪ ይሉታል: But the Blu people call it "Sabaramture Seru Feri."

ሀሴቦን (Hasebon):
(ጽር. ሄሴቦን) ውስጠ-ውስጥ፤ ውሳጣዊ: (Tser. Hesebon) Inner-inner; internal.
ኵሉ ክብራ ለወለተ ንጉሥ ሀሴቦን (መዝ ፡፵፬): All the glory of the daughter of the king is within (Psalm 44).

ሀረመ (Hareme):
ተወ: He left. – ሐሪም ሐረመ (Harim Hareme).

ሀርበደ (Harbede):
(አብደ።ዐረ. አርበደ፤ ከፋ ክፉ ኾነ) አረበደ፤ ቸኰለ: (Abde. Are. Arbede; Kefa Kifu Hone) He rushed, he hurried.
ተቈጣ እብድ እብድ አለ: He got angry, he acted mad.
ደነገጠ ደነበረ፤ ወገሸ አገረገረ፤ ሸሸ ሮጠ ፈረጠጠ፤ የከብት: He was startled, he trembled; he deviated, he wandered; he fled, he ran, he scampered; of cattle.
ከመ ዕጐልት እንተ ተሀረብድ ሀርበደ ኤፍሬም (ሆሴ፬ ፡፲፮): "Like a heifer that rushes wild, Ephraim." (Hosea 4:16).
ተቀናጣ፤ ተቀማጠለ፤ ሰው ልፍጅ አለ፤ የዘመናይ: He twisted, he wriggled; the man said "Lifj"; of a modern person.
ወለእመ ቀተለ በሀርብዶ ኢይከውን ኵነኔሁ ከመ ኵነኔ አብዳን ( ፡ነ ፡፵፯): "And if he killed in Harbedo, his punishment will not be like the punishment of Abdan" (F.N. 47).
አንዳንድ መጣፍ በተሀርብዶ ይላል ስሕተት ነው: Some texts say "BeTeharbido," which is a mistake.

ሀበየ (Habeye):
ሾመ ጠበቀ: He appointed, he guarded. – ሐብይ ሐበየ (Habiy Habeye).

ሀቢብ (Habib):
ወዳጅ: Friend. – ሐቢብ ሐበ (Habib Habe); ሐበበ ሐቢብ (Habebe Habib).

ሀቢብቦት (Habibot):
(ሀበ፤ ሀበበ የሀብብ ይህብብ።ዐረ፤ ሰበ) ሀብሀብ ማለት፤ መስደብ መንቀፍ፤ ማቃለል: (Habe; Habebe Yehabb Yihabb. Are; Sebe) Meaning Habhab; to insult, to criticize; to belittle.
መጽሐፍ ግን በሀበበ ፈንታ ተሀበበ ይላል፤ ስሕተት ነው: The text, however, says "Tehabebe" instead of "Habebe," which is a mistake.
ይትሀበቡኒ ወይዘንጕጐኒ: "They reproach me and despise me."
ኢትትሀበቦ ለዘይትጋነይ: "Do not despise him who is honored."
በማእከለ ቢጹይ ትሀበብዎ ለምታ (ኤር፳ ፡፰።ሢራ፰ ፡፭።፳፭ ፡፲፰): "In the midst of my fellows, I was reproached all day long." (Jeremiah 20:8. Sira 8:5; 25:18).

ሀቢውዎት (Habewot):
(ሀበወ የሀቡ ይህቡ።ወሀበ፤ ሐበበ) መወጨፍ መዝነብ፤ መንፈስ መተገብ: (Habewe Yehabu Yihbu. Wehabe; Habebe) To pour, to rain; to fulfill the spirit.
ዝናምና ጠል መስጠት ማጥገብ: To give rain and dew, to satisfy.
ወሀበንና ሐበበን እይ፤ የዚህ ጎሮች ናቸው: See Wehabe and Habebe; these are its related terms.

ሀባቢ (Hababi):
መሀበቢ፤ መህብብ፤ መስተሀብብ፤ (ብትባን ባት) የሚሳደብ ተሳዳቢ፤ ነቃፊ አቃላይ፤ ሀብሀብ ባይ: Mehabebi; Mehbib; Mestehabib; (Bitban Bat) One who insults, an insulter; a critic, a belittler; one who says "Habhab."
ኢይኩኑ ነባብያነ ወተናጋርያነ ፅሩዕ ወመስተሀብባነ (ኪዳ። ሮሜ፩ ፡፴): "Let them not be revilers, nor boasters, nor proud, nor slanderers." (Kida. Romans 1:30).

ዐስበ ዝሙት፤ውሂብ ወሀበ: Thinking of fornication; - Wuhib Wehabe.

ወይም ጋለሞታ ስጥ ስጥ አምጣ ጨምር የምትል: Or a prostitute who says, "Come, come, give, give, bring, add."

ሀብለ (Hable):
ዋሸ ዐበለ: He lied, he deceived. – ሐቢል ሐብለ (Habil Hable).

ሀብለየ (Hableye):
በዘበዘ: He looted. – ሐብለየ ሕብልያ (Hableye Hibliya).

»ሀብት (Habt):
(ታት) በቁሙ፤ አሰጣጥ፤ ስጦታ፤ ዕድል ፈንታ፤ ጸጋ ብዕል፤ ምጽዋት ዳረጎት፤ ጕርሻ እጅ መንሻ፤ በከንቱ የሚሰጥ: (Tat) Literally; giving; gift; fortune, share; grace, talent; alms, charity; bribe, gratuity; given in vain.
ወሀቦሙ ሀብተ ወፈነዎሙ: He gave them gifts and sent them.
ሀብት ከልከ ይኩንከ: "Let there be forbidden wealth."
ኵሉ ሀብት ሠናይ እምላዕሉ: "Every good gift is from above."
ሀብታተ መንፈስ ቅዱስ: Gifts of the Holy Spirit.
በእንተ ሀብታት (ዘፍ፳፭ ፡፮።ዳን፭ ፡፲፯።ያዕ፩ ፡፲፯።ፊልክ ፡፻፸፬።ፍ ፡ነ ፡፳፮): "Concerning gifts" (Genesis 25:6; Daniel 5:17; James 1:17; Philk 174; F.N. 26).
ውበት ውብነት፤ መልክ ደም ግባት፤ የተፈጥሮ ሀብት: Beauty, beautifulness; appearance, complexion; natural wealth.

ሀብአ (Hab'a):
ዐባ ሸሸገ: He hid, he concealed. – ኀቢእ ኀብአ (Ḫbie Ḫab'a).

ሀትሒላ (Hathihla):
(ዕብራ) መዝሙር ምስጋና: (Hebrew) Hymn, praise.
መልአከ ሀትሒላ (ነሐ፲፩ ፡፲፯): Angel of Hathi'la (Nehemiah 11:17).

ሀኖስ (Hanos):
(ጽር. አኖስ ያኖስ) ከፊለ ስም የውቅያኖስ ክፋይ፤ ብጥብጥ ባሕር፤ የሚታወክና የሚናወጽ፤ የሚደምፅና የሚደረጽ: (Tser. Anos Yanos) Part of the name, a division of the ocean; turbulent sea; that which is disturbed and shaken; that which resounds and roars.
ይኸውም ከጠፈር በላይ ያለው ሢሶው ውሃ ነው፤ አንዱ እጅ ጠፈር አንዱ እጅ ውቅያኖስ እንዲባል፤ ይህ ደግሞ ሀኖስ ይባላል (ዘፍ፯ ፡፲፩።ኩፋ ፡፭።ሱቱ ፡ዕዝ፮ ፡፵፩): That is, the third above the firmament is water; so that one hand is called firmament, one hand is ocean; and this is also called Hanos (Genesis 7:11; Kufa 5; Sutu Ez 6:41).
ወበውእቱ መዋዕል ይወፅእ መቅሠፍቱ ለእግዚአ መናፍስት፤ ወይትረኀዉ ኵሎሙ መዛግብተ ማያት ዘመልዕልተ ሰማያት ወዲበ አንቅዕት እለመትሕተ ሰማያት።ወይዴመሩ ኵሎሙ ማያት ዘምስለ ማያት ዘመልዕልተ ሰማያት፤ ማይሰ ዘመልዕልተ ሰማይ ተባዕታይ ውእቱ፤ ወማይ ዘመትሕተ ምድር አንስቲያዊት ይእቲ (ሔኖ ፡፵፩): "And in those days the punishment of the Lord of Spirits will come forth; and all the treasuries of the waters that are above the heavens will be opened, and upon the foundations which are beneath the heavens. ብዙዎች መተርጕማን ግን ፪ቱን እጅ ውሃ ጠፈር አደረገው ይላሉ እንጂ፤ ከጠፈር በላይ ብጥብጥ ባሕር አለ አይሉም: However, many interpreters say that he made the two hands water and firmament; and they do not say that there is a turbulent sea above the firmament.

ሀዑቢም (Haubim):
(ዕብራ) ወፍራሞች፤ ደንዳኖች: (Hebrew) Fat ones; strong ones.
ወፍሮች ድንዳኔዎች (ሕዝ፵፩ ፡፳፮): Fat, strong ones (Ezekiel 41:26).

ሀከከ (Hakke):
[1] (ሆከ) አወከ፤ አሸበረ: (Hoke) He confused; he terrified.
ሆከንና ዐከወን ተመልከት: See Hoken and Akewen.

ሀከክ (Hakek):
ሁከት ሽብር፤ ጠብ ክርክር፤ ቱማት አፍጅት: Uproar, terror; quarrel, argument; quarrelsome strife.
ዕለተ ሀከክ: Day of uproar.
ማየ ሀከክ: Water of uproar.
አኮ በሀከክ ወበትዝልፍት: "Not in uproar or with contempt."
እለ ይገብሩ ሀከክ: "Those who do uproar."
እስመ በሀከክ ኀደርክሙ ወበሀከክ ይወድቁ ደቂቅከ (ኢሳ፳፪ ፡፭።መዝ ፡፻፳፫።ግብ፲፱ ፡፴፮።ሮሜ፲፮ ፡፲፯።ኩፋ ፡፲): "For in uproar you dwell, and in uproar your children fall." (Isaiah 22:5; Psalm 123; Acts 19:36; Romans 16:17; Kufa 10).

( ) ሀካይ (Hakay):
(ያንያት) የታከየ ሐኬተኛ፤ ሰነፍ ታካች አሥራፈት: (Yaniyat) One who is worn out, sluggish; lazy, tiring, spendthrift. (Proverbs 6:6; 10:4; Matthew 25:26).
በሀካይ ፈንታ ተሀካዪ ይላል: Instead of Hakay, it says Tehakayi.
ኢትኩን ተሀካዬ (ምሳ፮ ፡፫): "Do not be sluggish." (Proverbs 6:3).

ሀኬት (Haket):
በቁሙ ስንፍና ቸልታ፤ ንዝህላልነት፤ ተንኰል ክፋት: Literally, laziness, carelessness; negligence; trickery, evil.
በሀኬት ወበጽርዐተ ዕደው ይወድቅ ናሕስ: "In laziness and in the heat of battle, Nahs falls."
እመ ዘረከባእም ሕሠማት ኮነ በሀኬተ ዚኣሁ: "If he finds it from His thoughts, it becomes through His laziness."
ሶበ ተሀጕለን ዋየ አመጋቢ በእደ መጋቢ ዘእንበለ ጽልሑት ወኢ ሀኬት (መክ፲ ፡፲፰።ፍ ፡ነ ፡፳፰ ፡፴): "When the hands are idle, the rafters sag; when the hands are slack, the house leaks." (Ecclesiastes 10:18; F.N. 28:30).

ሀክይ (Haki):
(ሀከየ የሀኪ ይህኪ።ሀየየ፤ አከየ) መስነፍ መታከት መድከም መሰልቸት፤ ሥራ መተው መጥላት፤ መለገም ቸል ማለት: (Hakeye Yehaki Yihki. Hayeye; Akeye) To be lazy, to be tired, to be weak, to be bored; to abandon work, to hate; to be stingy, to be negligent.
መጽሐፍ ግን በሀየየ ፈንታ ተሀየየ እንዲል፤ በሀከየም ፈንታ ተሀከየ ይላል: The text, however, says Tehayeye instead of Hayeye; and also Tehakeye instead of Hakeye.
ዘይጻሙ በሥጋሁ ወይትሀከይ በነፍሱ: "He who strives in his body and is lazy in his soul."
ኢናፅርዕ ቅኔ እደዊነ ወኢንትሀከይ: "We do not withhold the art of our hands, nor are we lazy."
ኢትትሀከዩ ለንስሓ: "Do not be lazy for repentance."
ኢትትሀከይ ገቢረ ሠናይ: "Do not be lazy in doing good."
ኢይትሀከይ መዊተ (አርጋ።ዲድ ፡፲፫።ቀሌ።ምሳ፫ ፡፳፯።ግብ፳፭ ፡፲፩): "Do not be lazy in dying." (Arga; Deed 13; Qele; Proverbs 3:27; Acts 25:11).

ሀወለ (Hawele):
ቀላቀለ: He mixed.ሐወለ (Hawele).

ሀዊብቦት (Hawibot):
(ሆበየ ሀውብ ይሁብ።ዕብ. አዌህ) መፈለግ መሻት፤ መዞር መንከርተት ማግኘት፤ የምግብ: (Hobeye Hawb Yihub. Heb. Aweh) To seek, to desire; to go around, to wander to find; for food.

ሀዊክኮት (Hawikot):
(ሆከየ ሀውክ ይሁክ።ዐከወ፤ ሀከከ) ማወክ መንቀንቀጥ ማንቀሳቀስ፤ ማገበር መጐስጐስ ማነሣሣት፤ ማሳዘን ማስጨነቅ ባለ መከራ ማደረግ: (Hokeye Hawk Yihuk. Akewe; Hakek) To disturb, to shake, to move; to rebel, to incite, to agitate; to sadden, to trouble, to make one suffer.
ሆኮሙ ከመ ማዕበለ ባሕር: "He disturbed them like the waves of the sea."
ኢተክህሎሙ ከመ ይሁክዋ ለሐመር እመካና: "They could not disturb the ship from its place."
ተመሰሎሙ ለእለ ይለክፉ ምንተኒ በአጽባዕቶሙ ወየሀውኩ ኵለንታሁ: "He likened them to those who reproach anything with their fingers, and they stir up everything."
ሆከቶ ጸጋ እግዚ ከመ ይሑር ኀበ ገዳመ አስቄጥስ: "He troubled the grace of the Lord so that he would go to the desert of Asketis."
ፈቃድከትሁክ ቅድስተ ሲኖዶሰ: "It is the will to trouble the holy synod."
የሀውኮሙ ለአሕዛብ (ሢራ፳፱ ፡፲፰።ስንክ ፡ኅዳ፳፰።አፈ ፡ድ፪።ስንክ ፡ጥቅ፳።ተረ ፡ቄር፲፪።ኢዮ፲፪ ፡፳፫): "He stirred them up against the nations" (Sira 29:18; Sink. Hida 28; Afe D2; Sink. Tiq 20; Tere Qer 12; Job 12:23).
ሖሰንና ኮሶን እይ፤ የዚህ አግዋር ናቸው: See Hosen and Koson; these are its related terms.

ሀዋኪ (Hawaki):
(ኪትክ ያንያት) የሚያውክ አዋኪ፤ ሁከተኛ ነቅናቂ ጥባጭ: (Kitik Yaniyat) One who disturbs, a disturber; an agitator, a troublemaker.
ሀዋኪ በግዕዙ: Hawaki in Ge'ez.
ሞገድ ሀዋኪ: Disturbing wave.
ጸልዩ ዪውስተ ማኅበርነ ኢይባእ ሀዋኪ (መጽ ፡ምስ።ተረ ፡ቄር።ደራሲ): "Pray that a troublemaker does not enter into our assembly." (Mets. Mis. Tere Qer. Derasi).

ሀውል (Hawl):
(ዕብ. ሄቤል) ላበት እንፏለት ሞቀ ገላ ካፍ የሚወጣ: (Heb. Hebel) Vapor, breath, that which comes out of a warm body.
ከንቱ ነገር ዕብለት፤ ዋዛ ፈዛዛ ሣቅ ሥላቅ፤ ስድብ ነቀፋ: Vain thing, arrogance; joke, foolish laughter, mockery; insult, rebuke.

ሀውለየ (Hawleye):
(ተቀግ) አፌዘ ሣቀ ተሣለቀ፤ ነቀፈ ሰደበ አረከሰ፤ ከንቱ አደረገ: (Teqeg) He mocked, he laughed, he ridiculed; he rebuked, he insulted, he defiled; he made vain.
ከመዝ የሀወል ለአግዚ፤ ወእለ ጸጋት ስብእቱ ይመይጡ ውስተ ሀውልዮ: "Thus he mocks the Lord; and those who are the grace of his people turn into his mockery."
ተሀወል ዮኑ ለእግዚ ቃል በዘ ሐመ: "He ridiculed the word of the Lord in what he suffered."
ኢተሀውል ለዐቃቤ ሥራይ እመ በትሕትና አሕየወ: "He did not ridicule the guardian of the covenant if he revived in humility."
ኢየሀውልይዎ ኬለ ክርስቶስ ኃጥኣን: "Christ does not ridicule sinners."
ኢተሀውሊ ኬሕማማቶ: "He did not ridicule his sufferings."
እመ አረሚ ሀውለይዎ لمስጢር: "If a pagan ridicules it" (Tere Qer. 5, 10, 18).

ሀውክ (Hawk):
በቁሙ፤ ሁከት እውክታ ንውጽውጽታ፤ መከራ ጭንቅ፤ ሽብር ድብልቅልቅ: Literally; uproar, confusion, disturbance; suffering, distress; terror, chaos.
ሀውከ ሞገድ: Uproar of the waves.
ከመ ያህድእ ኵሎ ሀውከ ወሐዘነ (ተረ ፡ቄር፬ ፡፲፬።ሔኖ፴፱ ፡፪።ያዕ፫ ፡፲፮): "So that he calms all uproar and sorrow." (Tere Qer 4:14; Henoch 39:2; James 3:16).

ሀየለ (Hayele):
በረታ: He was strong. ኀይሎ ኀየለ (Ḫaylo Ḫayele).

ሀየል (Hayel):
(ላት።ዕብ. አያል።ሱር. አያላ።ዐረ. ኢየል) ዋሊያ ዋላ፤ ቀንዳም ቀንደ ገላላ፤ ባለብዙ ዐጽቅ ባለ ተቀጥላ፤ ነዊኀ ዐፅም እግረ ሽመላ፤ የፌቆ ወገን የበረሓ እንስሳ: (Lat. Heb. Ayal. Sur. Ayala. Are. Iyel) Walia, deer; horned, smooth-horned; with many wrinkles, with appendages; long-boned, stork-legged; an animal of the desert, of the Feqo lineage.
ዘያረትዖን ከመ ሀየል ለእገርየ: "Who makes my feet like deer's feet."
ወከመ ወሬዛ ሀየል: "And like the green of a deer."
ህየ ተጋብኣ ሀየላት እስመ ሀየል ቀታሊሁ ለከይሲ: "There the deer gathered because the deer is the killer of the Kaysi."
ሀየላት ወለዳ በውስተ ገዳም (መዝ ፡፲፯።ማሕ፪ ፡፱።ተረ ፡ቄር፰።ኤር፲፬ ፡፭): "Deer gave birth in the desert." (Psalm 17; Song of Songs 2:9; Tere Qer 8; Jeremiah 14:5).

ሀዪድዶት (Hayiddot):
(ሄደ፤ ሀየደ የሀይድ ይሂድ) መቀማት መንጠቅ፤ በምክንያት መውሰድ: (Hede; Hayede Yehayd Yihid) To seize, to snatch; to take with reason.
እነሥአከ ወአሀይደከ: "I will lift you up and take you away."
ወየሀይደክሙ ገራህተክሙ: "And he will take away your fields."
ኢትትዐገሉ ወኢትሂዱ መነሂ (፩ነገ ፡፪ ፡፲፪።፰ ፡፲፬።ሉቃ፫ ፡፲፬): "Do not be impatient, and do not go anywhere." (1 Kings 2:12; 8:14; Luke 3:14).
፡ማንጸብረቅ፤ መሳብ መበዝበዝ: To reflect; to attract, to plunder.
ለብሰ ዳዊት ዘየሀይድ ዐይነ: "David wore that which attracts the eye."
አሣእኒሃ ሀየደ አዕይንቲሁ: "Ashainiha attracted his eyes."
ዕበየ ብርሃኑ የሀይድ አዕይንተ (፪ነገ ፡፮ ፡፲፬።ዮዲ፲፮ ፡፱።ቀሌ): "The greatness of his light attracted eyes." (2 Kings 6:14; Judith 16:9; Qele).
፡መሄድ መራመድ፤ እግርን ማንሣት መንጠቅ: To go, to walk; to lift the foot, to snatch.
ምስጢሩ ያው መውሰድ ነው፤ ኬደ መርገጥ መደፍጠጥን ሄደ አነሣሥን ያሳያል፤ ኬደ ሖረ የግእዝ ሄደ ያማርኛ: Its mystery is the same as taking; Kede shows trampling, crushing, while Hede shows lifting. Kede, Hore are Ge'ez, Hede is Amharic.
ነጠቅ ነጠቅ አርግ እንዲሉ ቶሎ ቶሎ ሂድ ሲሉ: Like saying "Lift, lift," when they say "Go quickly, quickly."

ሀዪጵጶት (Hayippot):
(ሄጰየ ሀይጵ ይሂጵ።ዐረ. ሀበ፤ ሀፈ) መነቅነቅ መስበቅ፤ የሾተል የጦር: (Heppeye Hayits Yihits. Are. Habe; Hafe) To shake, to split; of a spear, of a weapon.
መሳብ መንደፍ፤ መወርወር ማወንጨፍ፤ መውጋት መግመስ መፈንከት: To pull, to stab; to throw, to sling; to pierce, to cut, to thrust.
ህይጶተ ቀስት ወደርብዮ ኵያንው: "The spitting of arrows and throwing of spears."
ነደፈ ወሄጶ ለንጉሥ ማእከለ ሰንብዑ: "He stabbed and pierced the king in the middle of his armor."
ፈነወ ሐጾ ወሄጶጥቦ: "He sent, he protected, and pierced him."
የሀይጱ ሥዕርተ ወኢይስሕቱ: "They pierce a hair and do not miss."
ወፀፎ በእብን ወሄጶ ውስተ ፍጽሙ (መቃ ፡ገ፲፬።፪ዜና ፡፲፰ ፡፴፫።ኩፋ ፡፴፰።መሳ፳ ፡፲፮።ሢራ፵፯፤ ): "And he hit with a stone, and he pierced into completeness." (Meqa. Ge 14; 2 Chronicles 18:33; Kufa 38; Judges 20:16; Sira 47; 4).

ሀያዪ (Hayayi):
(ተሀያዪ) ቸል ባይ ቸልተኛ፤ ታጋሽ: (Tehayayi) Careless, negligent; patient.
ጳውሎስ ሐዋርያ ኮነ ተሀያዬ ስብሐተ፤ ኀሳረ ወጽዕሰተ (ፊልክ ፡፵፮።፶፬።፻፩): "Paul the Apostle became one who endured praise; sorrow and oppression." (Philk 46, 54, 101).

ሀያዲ (Hayadi):
(ዲት ድያንያት) የሚቀማ ቀማኛ፤ ነጣቂ ወሳጅ: (Dit Diyanit) One who seizes, a thief; a snatcher, a taker (Luke 18:11; 1 Corinthians 5:10, 11; 6:10).
እም እደ ሀያዲሁ: "From the hand of his snatcher."
ሀያዴ ንዋየ ባዕድ: "Snatchers of other people's property."
ሰራቂ ወዐማፂ ወሀያዲ ወመሣጢ: "Thief, rebel, snatcher, and glutton."
ሀያድያን (ኤር፳፪ ፡፫።ቀሌ።ፈ ፡መ ፡፲፯ ፡፪።ፍ ፡ነ ፡፵፭): Snatchers (Jeremiah 22:3; Qele; F.M. 17:2; F.N. 45).

ሀይመነ (Haymene):
(ሱር. ሀይሜን።ዐረ. ሀይመነ) አመነ ታመነ: (Sur. Haymen. Are. Haymene) He believed, he trusted.
ንባቡ ከየማንፍችው አሚን የወጣ ነው፤ የመነንና አይመነን ተመልከት: Its reading is derived from the "Amin" of Yamanfich; see Menen and Aymenen.

ሀይማ (Haymani):
(ኒት ኒያንያት) ያመነ የሚያምን፤ የሚታመን፤ አማኒ ተአማኒ: (Nit Niyanit) One who believed, one who believes; trustworthy; believer, trusted one.

ሃይማኖተ አበው (Haymanote Abew):
የሊቃውንት መጽሐፍ፤ ድርሳን መልእክት፤ የኋላ ሰዎች ከየመጣፉና ከየቋንቋው ለቅመው ተርጕመው እንደ ፍትሐ ነገሥት ለብቻው አንድ ክፍል መጣፍ ያደረጉት ታላቅ ምእላድ፤ በቅዳሴ ጊዜ የሚነበብ: ; The book of scholars; treatise, message; a great anthology that later people picked from various texts and languages, translated them, and made them a separate section of the text like Fitha Negest; read during Qidase.

ሃይማኖተ ንስጡር (Haymanote Nistur):
ንስጥሮሳዊ ባሕል እንደ አይሁድ እንደ ሙሐመድ፤ ቃል ሥጋ ኮነን የሚነቅፍና የሚያጸይፍ፤ ቃል በሰው ዐደረ እንጂ ሰው አልኾነም፤ ሰው ኹኖ አልተቀባም ብሎ የቃልን ሰው መኾን መሲሕነቱን የሚክድ (ቄር): Nestorian culture, like Jews, like Muhammad; who denounces and abominates the Word becoming flesh; denying the Word's becoming man and his Messiahship, saying that the Word dwelt in man but did not become man; he was not anointed as a man (Qer).

ሃይማኖተ እስላም (Haymanote Islam):
እስላማዊ ባሕል፤ ሰው ሠራሽ ትምህርት ከኦሪት ከወንጌል የማይገጥም (አቡሻ ፡፶): Islamic culture; man-made teaching that does not agree with the Old Testament or the Gospel (Abusha 50).

ሃይማኖት (Haymanot):
(ሱር. ሀይማኑታ) የዑደት የምሕላ ጸሎት ከቤተ ክሲያን ውጭ በዙሪያው በገረገራው የሚባል፤ እንደ ጥምቀት እንደ ጕዞ ፍታት ያለ፤ ወረብ ለዘብ፤ የታቦት ዘፈን: (Sur. Haymanuta) The cyclic prayer of supplication said outside the church in its surroundings, in the Gergera; like baptism, like journey, absolution; Woreb Lezeb; Tabot's song.
ሀይመና ሀይመን እንዲል (ያረር ጌጨፋሪ): Like saying "Haymena Haymen" (Yarer Gechafari).
፡በቁሙ፤ ማመን መታመን፤ እምነት ጽኑ ተስፋ፤ የአምልኮት ባሕል፤ በልብ በረቂቅ ሐሳብ የሚሣል: Literally; to believe, to trust; faith, firm hope; culture of worship; painted in the heart with subtle thought.
ሃይማኖተ ዕቁብ ምስለ ቢጽከ: "Keep faith with your neighbor."
ብእሲ ዘተአምር ከመ ሃይማኖት: "A man whom you know has faith."
እለ አዕረፉ በሃይኖተ ክርስቶስ (ሢራ፳፪ ፡፳፫።፳፯ ፡፲፪።ዲድ ፡፴፬): "Those who rested in the faith of Christ." (Sira 22:23; 27:12; Deed 34).

ሃይማኖት ርትዕት (Haymanot Riti'it):

ሃይማኖት ቅድስት (Haymanot Qidist):
ምስጢረ ሥላሴ፤ ምስጢረ ሥጋዌ (ይሁ ፡፳): Mystery of the Trinity; Mystery of the Incarnation (Yih 20).

ሀይከል (Haykel):
(ዕብ. ሄካል ሱር. ሄካላ።ዐረ. ሀይከል) ታላቅ ቤት አዳራሽ ሰቀላ፤ ቤተ መቅደስ፤ ከዚያውም ፵ው ክንድ መካከለኛው ክፍል፤ ጽርሕ: (Heb. Hekal Sur. Hekala. Are. Haykel) Great house, hall, upper room; temple; of which 40 cubits is the middle section; Tsirh (sanctuary).
ሀይከለ ቍድስ (ዮሴፍ): Holy Temple (Joseph).

፡መቅደስ ምሥዋዕ መንበረ ታቦት፤ በተገናኝ ማደሪያ ማለት ነው: Temple, sacrifice, seat of the Ark; it means "in a connecting dwelling."
ሲያበዛ ሀይከላት፤ ሀያክል ይላል: When pluralized, it says Haykelat; Hayakil.

ሀይብ (Hayib):
በቁሙ ዐይብ፤ሔበ ሐይብ: - Literally flaw; - Hebe Hayib.

ሀይወ (Hayiwe):
ዳነ: He was saved. ሐዪው ሐይወ (Hayiw Hayiwe).

ሀይይዮት (Hayiyiot):
(ሀየ፤ ሀየየ የሀይይ ይህየይ።ሀከየ) ቸል ማለት፤ መናቅ ማቅለል፤ መተው መጣል። መጽሐፍ ግን በሀየየ ፈንታ ተሀየየ ይላል፤ አያሰኝም: (Haye; Hayeye Yehayiy Yihyey. Hakeye) To neglect; to despise, to belittle; to leave, to come. The text, however, says Tehayeye instead of Hayeye; it is not desirable.
ኢትትሀየይ ትእዛዘ እምከ: "Do not despise the command of your mother."
ተሀየዩ ሥርዐተ: "Despise the custom."
አሙንቱ ተሀየዩ ወኀለፉ: "Those despised and passed."
ትትሄይ ኀጣይ አሰበእ: "Haughty sinner, the man."
ለዕቡያን ይትሄየ ዮሙ እግዚ (ምሳ፩ ፡፯።ቀሌ።ማቴ፳፪ ፡፭።ጥበ፲፩ ፡፳፬።ያዕ፬ ፡፮): "The Lord despises the proud" (Proverbs 1:7; Qele; Matthew 22:5; Wisdom 11:24; James 4:6).

ሀይድ (Hayd):
ቅሚያ፤ ንጥቂያ፤ ምክንያት ያለው አውሳሰድ: Seizure; snatching; taking with reason (Psalm 61; Isaiah 61:8).

ሀደመ (Hademe):
ተረተ: He told. – ሐድሞ ሐደመ (Hadmo Hademe).

ሀደየ (Hadeye):
(ዐረ. ሀደይ) አበሰለ አሟከከ፤ የሥጋ ያጥነት የሚቀቀል ኹሉ: (Are. Hadey) He cooked, he heated; everything boiled because of lack of meat.

ሀዲም ሞት (Hadim Mot):
(ሀድመ፤ ሀደመ የሀድም ይሕድም።ዕብ. ራዳም) ማንቀላፋት፤ በንቅልፍ መያዝ መወሰድ፤ መስነፍ መታከት እንቅልፋም መኾን: (Hadme; Hademe Yehadim Yihdim. Heb. Radam) To doze; to be taken by sleep, to be carried away; to be lazy, to be tired, to be sleepy.
መጨለም መክበድ፤ ሌሊት ውድቅት መኾን የጊዜ: To darken, to be heavy; to be the time when night falls.
መጽሐፍ ግን በሀድመ ፈንታ ተሀድመ ይላል: The text, however, says Tehadme instead of Hadme.
ዘኒ ተሀድሙ: "Those who fell asleep."
እም ቅድመ ይብራህ ብርሃነ መዓልት ወእም ቅድመ ይትሀደም ሌሊት (ዕዝ፮ ፡፴፩።ቅዳ ፡አፈ): "Before the light of day shines, and before the night falls." (Ezra 6:31; Qida Afe).

ሀዲእ ኦት (Hadi'ot):
(ሀድአ የሀድእ ይሕዳእ።ዐረ. ሀደአ) ዝም ጸጥ ዳጫ ማለት፤ ከሁከት ማረፍ፤ መርጋት መጨመት፤ መቆም መገታት: (Had'a Yehad' Yihda'. Are. Hade'a) It means quiet, silent, calm; to rest from uproar; to settle, to coagulate; to stand, to stop.
ዝኅነን ተመ፤ የዚህ ጎር ነው: Consider Zihnen; it is a related term.
ወሀድኡ አይሁድ በመዋዕለ ስምዖን: "And the Jews were quiet in the days of Simeon."
ውእቱሰ ኢይትናዘዝ ወኢየሀድእ: "He, however, does not weep and is not quiet."
ሀድአት ልባእም ሐዘን: "Her heart was quiet from sorrow."
በመዋዕሊሁ ሀድአት ወአርመመ ትምድረ ይሁዳ: "In his days the land of Judah was quiet and at rest."
ዝኅነ ሞገድ ወሀድአ ማዕበል (ዮሴፍ።ስንክ መስ፳፰።፪ዜና ፡፲፬ ፡፩።መጽ፤ ምስ።ዘፀ፬ ፡፳፰፴፬): Consider the wave, and the storm became calm (Joseph; Sink Mes 28; 2 Chronicles 14:1; Mets Mis; Exodus 4:28-34).
ዳታ ዳተኛ ማለት ከዚህ ወጥቷል: Data, Datenga, meaning "calm one," comes from this.

ሀገሪታዊ (Hageritawi):
ዝኒ ከማሁ፤ ዐጀም አረመኔ: Zini Kemahu; Ajem, barbarian.
ጽሑፍ አልቦ ውስተ ልበ ንጹሓን ፍልጠት ማእከለ አይሁዳዊ ወሀገሪታዊ ገብር ወአግዓዚ (ፊልክ ፡፹፯): "There is no writing in the hearts of the pure of understanding between Jewish and pagan slaves and servants" (Philk 87).

ሀገሪት (Hagerit):
ያቀኗት የቈረቈሯት፤ የተወለዱባት አገር ርስት ጕልት: The land where one was raised and built; the country of one's birth, inheritance, Gult (land grant).
ወዳጅ ዘመድ፤ ዐብሮ አደግ ያገር ሰው፤ ተወራራሽ ወንድም: Friend, relative; a countryman, who grew up together; a competing brother.
በላለጥ በብእኅትየ አንቲ ወለአእምሮ ሀገሪተ ከረስያ (ምሳ፯ ፡፬): "Say to wisdom, 'You are my sister,' and call understanding your kinswoman." (Proverbs 7:4).
፡አንባ ኰረብታ፤ ዕርድ ምሽግ: High ground, hill; an entrenched fortress.
ሀገሪት ይእቲ ለኵሎሙ እለ ይቀርብዋ (ምሳ፫ ፡፲፭): "It is Hagret (Hagerit) for all who approach it." (Proverbs 3:15).
፡ማኅበር ጉባኤ፤ ድርገት: Association, assembly; organization.
እንዘ ሀለዉ በምድር ሀገሪተ ይኩኑ ምስለ ሰማያውያን (ቀሌ): "While they are on the earth, let them be citizens with the heavenly ones" (Qele).
፡ባላገር ባለጌ፤ አረመኔ ያልተማረ ያልሠለጠነ፤ ዐጀም: Villager, rude person; barbarian, uneducated, uncivilized; Ajem.
ሐቃል ወኢ ሀገሪት (ቆላ፫ ፡፲፩): "Not Hakal or Hagret." (Colossians 3:11).

ሀገራዊ (Hagerawi):
ያገር፤ ባላገር፤ ባላባት አቅኚ፤ ሹም ሽማግሌ፤ አውራ ቀንድ፤ ወይም ዕድር፤ ልማድ: Of the country; villager; gentleman, pioneer; official, elder; chief; or Edir; custom.
(ተረት) ያገር ዕድር ለንጉሥ ያስቸግር: (Proverb) "The country's Edir troubles the king."
ምግብና ሀገራዊት ( ፡ነ ፡፲): Food and Hagerawit (F.N. 10).

ሀገር (Hager):
(ብአህጉ() ራት) በቁሙ፤ አገር መንደር፤ ከተማ ገጠር፤ ብዙ ቤቶች የተሠሩበት፤ ብዙ ሰዎች የሚኖሩበት፤ በያቅኝውና በየክፍሉ ገዥ አዛዥ፤ ዳኛ መልከኛ ያለው፤ ታላቁም ታናሹም: (Beahgu(g)r; Rat) Literally; country, village; city, countryside; where many houses are built; where many people live; which has a ruler, commander; judge, official in each district and section; both the great and the small.
ኢትክል ተከብቶ ሀገር እንተ ተሐንጸት መልዕልተ ደብር: "A city set on a hill cannot be hidden."
ሀገር ቅድስት: Holy country.
ሀገረ እስራኤል: Land of Israel.
ውስተ አህጕር ወአዕጻዳት (ማቴ፭ ፡፲፬።ሢራ፳፬ ፡፲፬።ኤር፫ ፡፰።ማር፮ ፡፴፮): "Into countries and fields" (Matthew 5:14; Sira 24:14; Jeremiah 3:8; Mark 6:36).

ሀገየ (Hageye):
ባጀ: He built. ሐግይ ሀገየ ሐጋይ (Hagiy Hageye Hagay).

ሀጕል (Hagul):
(ላት) ጥፋት ጕዳት፤ ችግር ዕጦት: (Lat) ; destruction, damage; trouble, lack.
ፍኖት እንተትወስድ ውስተ ሀጕል: "A path that leads to destruction."
ወልደ ሀጕል: "Son of destruction."
ሀጕል ዐቢይ: Great destruction.
በሀጕልክሙ እሥሕቅ (ማቴ፯ ፡፲፫።ዮሐ፲፯ ፡፲፪።ግብ፳፯ ፡፲።ምሳ፩ ፡፳፮): "I will laugh at your destruction." (Matthew 7:13; John 17:12; Acts 27:10; Proverbs 1:26).
አጥፍኦ አህጕሎ በማለት ፈንታ ሀጕል ይላል: Instead of saying "Atfio Ahgul," it says Hagul.
ጊዜ ለኀሢሥ ወጊዜ ለሀጕል (መከ፫ ፡፮): "A time for gathering and a time for scattering." (Ecclesiastes 3:6).

ሀጒልሎት (Haguillot):
(ሀጕለ ሐጐለ የሀጕል ይሀጐል) ማጣት መቸገር፤ የያዙትን የረዘዙትን፤ ወይም የሹትን የተመኙትን አለማግኘት: (Hagule Hagole Yehagul Yehagol) To lose, to be troubled; not to find what they held, what they desired; or what they yearned for, what they wished for.
ከመ ኢትህጐል ርስተከ: "So that you will not lose your inheritance."
ህጐል ወርቀከ እምትህጐል ዐርከከ: "Losing your gold is better than losing your friend."
ሀጕለ አዕይንቲሁ ጦቢት: "Tobit lost his eyes."
ሀጕሉ ዕሌቶሙ: "They lost their thoughts."
የሀጕሉ ተስፋሆሙ (ሢራ፬ ፡፮።፳፱ ፡፲።ጦቢ፯ ፡፯።ማቴ፮ ፡፪።ዲድ ፡፳፭): "They lost their hope." (Sira 4:6; 29:10; Tobit 7:7; Matthew 6:2; Deed 25).

ህጕሬ (Higure):
ቀይ ቀለም: Red color. – ሕጕሬ (Higure).

ሀጊር፤ ሮት (Hagir; Rot):
(ሀገረ የሀግር ይህግር።ዕብ. ሀጌር) ዐዲስ ቦታ መሻት መፈለግ፤ መመርመር፤ ማቅናት፤ መቈርቈር፤ ምንጩን መማስ ዱሩን መጣስ፤ መከተም መመንደር፤ መዲና መሥራት: (Hagere Yehagir Yihgir. Heb. Hager) ; To desire to seek a new place; to investigate; to straighten; to dig; to exhaust the source, to spoil the forest; to build a town, to settle; to build a city.

ሀጊናህ (Haginah):
(ዕብራ) የቀና ቀጥያለ፤ የተካከለ፤ ባለ ዕርከን፤ ፍኖተ መዘምራን (ሕዝ፵፪ ፡፲፪): (Hebrew) Straight, upright; adjusted; arched; path of singers (Ezekiel 42:12).

ሀግረተ (Hagrete):
(ተቀ ፡ግ) ተጋ፤ ዐሰበ ተወዘወዘ፤ በትጋት በሐሳብ ተያዘ: (Teq.G) He strived; he thought, he shook; he was seized with effort, with thought.
በሀግረተ ፈንታ ጋህረተ ይላል፤ የጣፊ ስሕተት ነው: Instead of Hagrete, it says Gahrete; it is a scribal error.
ከመት ትትጋህረቱ ለመፍቅደ ልብየ (አርጋ ፡፬): "How much do you strive to please my heart?" (Arga 4).

ሀፊውዎት (Hafiwot):
(ሀፈወ የሀፉ ይሕፉ።ዐረ. ሀውፍ፤ ሁፍ፤ ውዑይ ነፋስ) መውዛት መድከም፤ መሞቅ በላበት መጠመቅ: (Hafewe Yehafu Yihfu. Are. Hawf; Huf; Wu'uy Nefas) To weaken, to tire; to warm oneself, to be soaked in sweat.
ፈተወት ትትኀፀብ፤ እስመ ሀፈወት: "She wanted to wash herself; because she was tired."
እስከ የሀፍዉ: "Until they grew weary."
ጾመ ወጸለየ ደክመ ወሀፈወ: "He fasted and prayed, he became tired and weary."
በጸዊረ መስቀሉ ሀፈወ፤ እስመ ክቡድ ውእቱ (ዳን፩ ፡፲፭።ሥር ፡ጳኵ።ግንዘ።ቅዳ ፡ግሩ): "He was tired by carrying his cross; because it is heavy." (Daniel 1:15; Sir Paku; Ginze; Qida Gru).

ሀፍ (Haf):
(ዕብ. ዚዓህ) ወዝላበት፤ ድካም (ዘፍ፫ ፡፲፱።ሉቃ፳፪ ፡፵፬): (Heb. Zi'ah) And sweat; fatigue (Genesis 3:19; Luke 22:44).
አብዝኅ ስግደተ እስከ ይውሕዝ ሀፉ ከመ ማይ: "He multiplied bowing until sweat flowed like water."
ዘእንበለ ጻማ ወሀፍ: "Without toil and sweat."
ፈንዉ ሲሳዮሙ እም ንዋይክሙ ወሀፈ ገጽክሙ (ገድ ፡ተክ።አፈ ፡ተ፫።ዲድ ፡፳፭): "Send their provisions from your wealth, and your face will sweat." (Ged Tek; Afe T3; Deed 25).
፡ሙቀት፤ ሐሩር: Heat; hotness.
ቍር ወሀፍ: Cold and heat.
ብሔረ ጽምእ ወሀፍ: Land of thirst and heat.
ሀፍ ወሞቅ (ዘፍ፰ ፡፳፪።ዘዳ፴፪ ፡፲።ሔኖ፹፪ ፡፲፮): Heat and warmth (Genesis 8:22; Deuteronomy 32:10; Henoch 82:16).

ሀፓሊ (Hapali):
መሀፕል፤ መሀፒል፤ እየ መታ የሚያጥብ ዐጣቢ: Mehapl; Mehapil; a washer who washes by beating.
ገራህተ መሀፒል: Washing of Mehapil.
ዘኢይክል መሀፒል አጻዕድዎ ከማሁ (ኢሳ፯ ፡፫።፴፮ ፡፪።ማር፱ ፡፫): "That which Mehapil cannot bleach, likewise…" (Isaiah 7:3; 36:2; Mark 9:3).

ሀፐለ (Hapele):
(ዐረ. አበለ፤ ወበለ) ዐጠበ፤ መታ ደደበ: (Are. Abele; Webele) He washed; he beat, he pounded.
በመርገጥና በመጠቅጠቅ ፈንታ በዱላ እየመቱ የሚያጥቡት ዕጥበት አለና፤ ዕጥበቱንም አመታቱንም ባንድነት ያሳያል: Because there is washing by beating with a stick instead of trampling and crushing; it shows both the washing and the beating as one.

[1] (Hu):
ሁ፤ () ጥያቄ፤ የጥያቄ ቃል፤ ንኡስ አገባብ፤ ፍችውን በቃል መጨረሻ እንደ ዝርዝር ትራስ እየ ኾነ ይገባል: Hu;(Hu - Nu) Question; question word; minor usage; its meaning enters at the end of the word as a detailed head.
ኢኮነ ከመዝ: "Was it not like this?"
እምኔሁ ይሴወር: "From him it is hidden?"
ትስአሉኒ መጻእክሙ (ዓሞ፪ ፡፲፩።ኢዮ፴፰ ፡፯።ሕዝ፳ ፡፫): "Did you come to ask me?" (Amos 2:11; Job 38:7; Ezekiel 20:3).
አመ ነገሩክሙ: "Was it in what I told you?"
አልቦ አመ አንበብክሙ: "Was it not when you read?"
አኮ አነ ዘአወልድ እያለም በነባር አንቀጽ ይገባል: "Am I not the one who gives birth?" Even though it is understood in the Nebar article.
ደግሞ በገባበት ይገባል፤ አገባቡን በቦታው እይ: Nu, also, is understood where Hu enters; see the usage in its place.
አንዳንድ ጊዜም ምናልባት ይኾናል: Sometimes Hu is also perhaps.
እመ ትብሉ : "If you say so perhaps."
ሶበ ያአምር በዓለቤት: "When perhaps the homeowner knows."
እመ አንተ ክርስቶስ (ኢሳ፷፮ ፡፯።ማቴ፳፬ ፡፵፫።፳፮ ፡፷፫): "If you are Christ" (Isaiah 66:7; Matthew 24:43; 26:63).

[2] ፡ሁ (Hu):
ሁ፤ (ውእቱ) ባዕድ ዝርዝር ጠቃሽ፤ ዐጸፋ፤ ምእላድ፤ ላንድ ለሩቅ ወንድ፤ በሩቅ ወንድ አንቀጽ ለሚጠራ ኹሉ: Hu; (Wu'itu) Foreign specific indicator; reward; anthology; for one distant man; for all that is called in the article of a distant man.
ርሱ ማለት ነው፤ ብእሲ ሁ፤ ሰው ዮው ሰው: It means "he"; B'isi Hu; Man, You, Ya Sew.
ሃሆሙ ሆን እያለ በሩቆች ብቻ ይረባ: Saying "Hahomu Hon," it is only useful for distant ones.
ኪያ ኪያ ሁ፤ ለል ቅድሜ ድኅሬ ሁ፤ ቀደሳ ወደሳ ሁ፤ መሰለው ኹሉ: Kiya Kiya Hu; Lel Le Li Hu, Qidme Hu Dihre Hu; Qedesa Hu Wedesa Hu; everything that resembles it.
ዝንቱ እንደ ወጣው እቱም ወጥቷል፤ የርባታ መደቦች የሚባሉ ዐሥሩ ሰራዊት ሳይቀሩ ኹሉም የሁ ዘር ናቸው: Z Zintu, Ke Ze, as it came out, Itum has come out of Hu; all of the ten armies called Yerbata Medeboch are of the Hu lineage.

ሁል (Hul):
ርኵስ: - Impure. – ሐዊል ሖለ ሐወለ፤ ሑል: Hawil Hole Hawele; Hul.

ሁስጱ (Huspu):
(ጽር. ሒሶፖስ) የቀነበጥች ቍጥቋጦ፤ ለባልብ: (Tser. Hisopos) A narrow bush; for Balb.
አዛብን ተመልከት፤ ከዚህ ጋራ ነው፤ ባለብሉዮች ግን ለይተውስም ዛአሸክት ይሉታል: See Azab; it is one with this; but the Blu people call it "Leyitewusim Za'ashekt."
ቈጽለ ሁስጱ: Leaf of Huspu.
ሐመል ሁስጱ (ዘሌ፲፬ ፡፬ ፡፯።፫ነገ ፡፬ ፡፱።ዮሐ፲፱ ፡፳፬።ዕብ፱ ፡፲፱): Load of Huspu (Leviticus 14:4, 7; 3 Kings 4:9; John 19:24; Hebrews 9:19).

ሁከት (Huket):
(ታት) በቁሙ፤ ማወክ፤ መታወክ፤ መታመስ መተራመስ፤ ሽብር: (Tat) Literally; to disturb; to be disturbed; to be confused, to be agitated; terror.
ሁከተ ማይ: Uproar of water.
ተሀውኩ ዐቢየ ሁከት: "They were greatly disturbed."
ሁከተ ነፍስ: Uproar of the soul.
ቃል ወሁከት: Word and uproar.
ሰይጣን መፍቀሬ ሁከት: Satan, lover of uproar.
ከመ በድምፀ ፅምአትከ ኢይኩን ሁከት (ዮሐ፭ ፡፫።ሔኖ፰ ፡፩።ጥበ፲፯ ፡፰።አስቴ ፡፩።ቀሌ።ኪዳ): "So that there may be no commotion at the sound of your thirst." (John 5:3; Henoch 8:1; Wisdom 17:8; Esther 1; Qele; Kida).

ሁጅራ (Hujira):
(ዐረ. ሂጅረት) ሠግር፤ ቀመር: (Are. Hijiret) Segir; Qemer.
ዓመተ እል ሁጅራ (አቡሻ ፡፲፩): Year of El Hujira (Abusha 11).

(Hi):
() ዋዌ፤ ፍችውም ደግሞ፤ ግን ስንኳ: (Hi-Ni) Wawé; its meaning is also; but even.
ሂኒኒ፤ ወይም ሂኒወ እያለ ብቻውንም ወም ጋራ ይገባ: Hi-Hini-Ni; or Hi-We-Hini We-Ni, it enters alone and with We.
አነኒ አንተ : "I also, you also."
አቡየ ወአነ : "My father also and I also."
እመሂ ሠርከ ወእመሂ መንፈቀ ሌሊት: "Whether it is morning or midnight."
ከሃሊ አንሰ ተጽናሰ ወተደልዎ ሂ፤ ርኂበ ወጸጊበ ሂ፤ ሐሚመ ወተፈሥሖ (ፊልጵ፬ ፡፲፪): "I am able both to be full and to be hungry, both to abound and to suffer need" (Philippians 4:12).
ግን ስንኳ ሲኾን አገባቡ እንደ ወነውና፤ የወን አፈታት ተመልከት: But when it is "and also," its usage is like Wenewena; see the explanation of Wen.

ሂደት (Hidet):
መቀማት (ጥቀ) መቀማት አቀማም አወሳሰድ፤ ቅሚያ ንጥቂያ (አርጋ): Taking (Tiqe), taking, raising, process of taking; seizure, snatching (Arga).
መሄድ መራመድ፤ አካሄድ አረማመድ፤ እግር አነሣሥ: To go, to walk; walk, process of walking; lifting the foot.

ሂጰት (Hits'et):
መንደፍ መነደፍ፤ አነዳደፍ ነደፋ ውርወራ፤ ንድፊያ ውጊያ፤ ውግታት ግምሳት: Stabbing, stabbing; the act of stabbing, stabbing, throwing; stabbing, fighting; battles, attacks.
አኮ በዘ ቀስት ሂጰት (ቄረ ፡ገ፯): "It is not by an arrow of stabbing" (Qere Ge7).

ጊዜ፤ ቦታ ወገን ማእዝን ዙሪያ እየ ኾነ ኵል ጋራ ይነገራል። ኵልን ተመ፤ አሐቲ በቀር ሌላ እንዳይገኝ፤ ደግሞ ኵል ቀር ሌላ አይገኝም: Being time, place, side, corner, surrounding, it is said with Kul. Consider Kul; Né cannot be found except with Ahati; Hé also cannot be found except with Kul.

[2] ፡ሄ (He):
(ዕብ. ሄእ) ስመ ፊደል ኃምስ፤ : (Heb. Hé) Name of the fifth letter; H.
እንሆ እንካ ማለት ነው (መዝ፻፲፰ ፡፴፫፵።ሰቈ፩ ፡፭።፪ ፡፭።፫ ፡፲፪።፬ ፡፭): It means "behold, take." (Psalm 118:33-40; Seqo 1:5; 2:5; 3:12; 4:5).
ህና እንደ ሌሎቹ የተለየ ሥራ የላቸውም: Hina and Ho, like the others, do not have a specific function.

ሄላ (Hela):
የወይን ዘለላ፤ የበሰለ ደሙ የመላ: Bunch of grapes; ripe, full of blood.
አጥባትኪ ከመ ሄላ እም ኔሆን ይውሕዝ ሐሊብ (አርጋ።ማሕ፯ ፡፰): "Your breasts are like clusters of grapes from which milk flows" (Arga. Song of Songs 7:8).
እኄላን ተመ፤ የዚህ መንቲያ ነው፤ ባለብሉዮች ግን ምንጭ የበለስ ቋንጣ የሰሌን ፍሬ ይሉታል: Consider Ehéla; it is related to this; but the Blu people call it "spring of figs, dried figs, fruit of the Selén."
ንባቡ ሀየላዊ፤ ምስጢሩ መስተፍሥሒ ከመ ሀየል: Its reading is Hayelawi; its mystery is "joyful like Hayel."
አስካል ሄላ መባሉ በምላሴ እንጂ ቃል በቃል አይዶለም: Saying "Askale Hela" is in my language, not literally.

ሄላንሳን (Helansan):
ክቡር ልብስ: Precious garment. – ቂላኖስ (Kilianos).

ሄሴፎት (Hesefot):
(ዕብ. ሀአሲፎት) የጥራጊ የጕድፍ መጣያ፤ ያዛባ የፍግ መቈለያ፤ ባለብሉዮች ግን ግናይ ይሉታል: (Heb. Ha'asifot) A dumping ground for trash and dirt; a collector of waste and dung; but the Blu people call it "Ginay."
አንቀጸ ሄሴፎ (ነሐ፲፪ ፡፴፩): Section of Hesefo (Nehemiah 12:31).

ሄርማ (Herma):
የመጽሐፍ ስም፤ ሐዋርያው ቅዱስ ጳውሎስ የጣፈው፤ እንደ ሣልስ ቆሮንቶስ ያለ ቍጥር ያልገባት ርፍ፤ ወሪድየ ብሔረ ሮሜ ብሎ የሚዠምር: Name of a book; written by the Apostle Saint Paul; a leftover, like 3rd Corinthians, that is beyond counting; which begins by saying "Weride ye behere Rome."
ስምነቱ ሄርሜን ማለት የወጣ ነው፤ ሄርሜናዊ ያሰኛል፤ ጸሓፊው ሄርሜን ስለ ተባለመጽሐፉም ሄርማ ተብሏል: Its name comes from saying "Hermén"; it makes Herménawi; because the writer was called Hermén, his book was also called Herma.

ሄርሜን (Hermén):
(ጽር. ሄርሚን) ጣዖት ስመ ጣዖት፤ በመንታ መንገድ ላይ የሚያቆሙት: (Tser. Hermin) Idol, name of an idol; which they set up on a crossroads.
መሪ አስተማሪ፤ ትርጁማን አፈ በሃማን ማለት ነው (ግብ፲፬ ፡፲፪): It means leader, teacher; translator, speaker in Bhaman (Acts 14:12).

ሄሮድስ (Herods):
(ዕብ. ሆርዶስ) የሰው ስም፤ ኤዶማዊ የእስራኤል ንጉሥ፤ በዘመነ ልደት የነበረ (ማቴ፪ ፡፩): (Heb. Hordos) A person's name; Edomite king of Israel; who lived in the time of the Nativity (Matthew 2:1).

ሄሮድያኖስ (Herodiyanos):
(ጽር. ሄሮዲዎስ) ያሞራ ስም፤ ሽመላ ሽመላዊ፤ እግረ ሽመል ዐንገተ ግመል፤ እግሩ ሽመል የሚያካክል።
(
ተረት) ካህንና ሽመላ ያል ዘራውን ይበላ: (Tser. Herodios) Name of Yamora; stork, stork-like; stork-legged, camel-necked; whose foot resembles a stork. (Proverb) "A priest and a stork eat what they do not sow."
ሄሮድያኖስ በሰማይ ያአምር ዕድሜሁ (ኤር፰ ፡፯።ዘሌ፲፩ ፡፲፱።መዝ ፡፻፫።ዘካ፭ ፡፱): "Herodianos in the sky knows his time" (Jeremiah 8:7; Leviticus 11:19; Psalm 103; Zechariah 5:9).

 

ሄዔኪር (He'ekir):
(ዕብ. ሄዔቢር) አሳለፈ አሻገረ፤ አስተላለፈ የጊዜ የወራት: (Heb. He'ébir) He passed over, he crossed over; he conveyed time, months.
ሐተታውን በቢዶን ፍች እይ፤ ባለብሉዮች ግን ደካማ ዘበጽሐ ጊዜሁ ኅሱር ይሉታል (ኤር፵፮ ፡፲፯): See its explanation in Bidon Fich; but the Blu people call it "weak, whose time has come, lacking" (Jeremiah 46:17).

ሄከ (Heke):
አላመጠ: He chewed. – ሐዪከ ሔከ (Hayike Heke).

ሄጠ (Hete):
ሸነገለ: He deceived. – ኀዪጥ ኄጠ (Ḫayit Ḫete).

ሄጰ (Hets'e):
ወጋገመ : He shone. – ሀዪጵ (Hayits').

ሄጶዲያቆን (Hepodiyakon):
(ጽር. ሂፖዲያኮኖስ) የዲያቆን ተወራጅ፤ ንፍቀ ዲያቆን (መጽ ፡ምስ): (Tser. Hipodiyakonos) Subdeacon; half-deacon (Mets Mis).

ሄጶዴጤን (Hepodeteten):
(ጽር. ሂፖዲቲስ።ዕብ. ምዒል) ልብሰ ተክህኖ፤ የላይ ልብስ ታላቅ ቀሚስ እጀ ሰፊ መቋረፊያ: (Tser. Hipoditis. Heb. Mi'il) Priestly garment; upper garment, large shirt, wide-sleeved covering.
ጶዴሬን እይ፤ ከዚህ ጋራ ነው (ዘፀ፴፮ ፡፴።ዘሌ፰ ፡፯): See Podérén; it is one with this (Exodus 36:30; Leviticus 8:7).

ሄጶጳ (Hepopa):
(ጽር. ሄፖፓ፤ ሄፖፕስ) ስመ ዖፍ ንኡስ፤ መጠኑ የርግብ የዋኖስ፤ ቍንጯም አፈ ረዥም የሾለ ቈይጠ ዝንጕርጕር ኰሳኵስ: (Tser. Hepopa; Hepops) Name of a small bird; its size is that of a pigeon, a swan; its beak is also long-mouthed, sharp-pointed, mottled, shaggy, rough.
ባለብሉዮች ግን ዐቢይ አሞራ ይሉታል (ዘሌ፲፩ ፡፲፱።ዘዳ፲፬ ፡፲፰): But the Blu people call it "Abiy Amora" (Leviticus 11:19; Deuteronomy 14:18).

ህሉና ህልውና (Hiluna Hilwina):
ነዋሪነት፤ አነዋወር ኑሮ: Resident, resident life.
ህሉና ሥላሴ: The being of the Trinity.
ህሉና መለኮት (ቅዳ): The being of divinity (Qida).

ህላሊ (Hilali):
ሠርቃዊ ወርኃዊ፤ የጨረቃ ወር: Lunar, monthly; month of the moon.
አውራኀ ህላል፤ ህላሊ (አቡሻ ፡፳፭): Month of Hilal; Hilali (Abusha 25).

ህላል (Hilal):
(ዐረ. ሂላል) ሠርቀ ወርኅ፤ ልደተ ወርኅ፤ ሐዲስ ለጋ ጨረቃ: (Are. Hilal) Lunar crescent; birth of the month; new young moon.

ህላዌ (Hilawé):
(ውያት) መኖር መኾን፤ አናዎር፤ ኑሮ: (Wiyat) To exist, to be; residence; life.
ንዜኑ ህላዌሁ ለአብ ምስለ ወልዱ፤ ወህላዌሁ ለወልድ ምስለ አቡሁ: "We tell of his being, for the Father with his Son; and his being, for the Son with his Father."
ሠለስቱ ህላዌ በአካላት ወአሐዱ ህላዌ በመለኮት (ቅዳ ፡ግሩ።ሃይ አበባለ): "Three beings in persons, and one being in divinity" (Qida Gru; Hay Abebabale).
ይህ ቃል ለሦስቱ ኹሉ የተለየ የአካል ህላዌና ግብር እንዳላቸው ያሳያል፤ ትርጓሜውም ይህ ነው: This word shows that all three have a separate person's being and action; and this is its meaning.
ወላዲ አብ አካል፤ መውለድ ማሥረጽ ግብሩ፤ ከዊነ ወላዲ ወይም ወላዲነት ህላዌው፤ ባማርኛ ባሕርይ ይባላል፤ ልዩነት ያለው ገጽ ቁመት አቋቋም መልክ ማለት ነው: The Father is a begetter, the action of giving birth; Being of the begetter or fatherhood is his being; in Amharic, it is called Bahriy (nature); it means the face, height, stature, appearance that has a difference.
ተወላዲ ወልድ አካል፤ መወለድ ግብሩ፤ ተወላዲነት ህላዌው: The Son is begotten, the action of being born; begottenness is his being.
ሠራጺ መንፈስ ቅዱስ አካል፤ መሥረጽ ግብሩ፤ ሠራጺነት ህላዌው፤ ሠለስቱ ህላዌ ይህ ነው: The Holy Spirit is the proceeder, the action of proceeding; proceeding is his being; this is Selestu Hilawé (Three Beings).
ወአሐዱ ህላዌ ያለውም፤ መውለድና ማሥረጽ መወለድ መሥረጽ በዚያው ባንዱ ባሕርይ ባንዱ መለኮት ነውና፤ ባሕርይ የሦስቱ መሣሪያ መኾኑንና አንድነቱን መደብ አድርጎ እንደ አካላት ወላዲ ተወላዲ ሠራጺ አለመባሉን ያሳያል: And the reason for saying "one being" is that begetting and proceeding, being born and proceeding are in the one nature and one divinity; It shows that nature is the instrument of the three and that it has categorized their unity so that they are not called begetter, begotten, and proceeder as persons.
ምስጢሩ፤ ባሕርይ ሳይከፋፈል፤ አካል ሳይቀላቀል፤ ስምና ግብር ሳይፋለስ የአካል ህላዌ ሳይፈርስ፤ ባንድነትና በሦስትነት ጸንቶ መኖር ነው: Its mystery; nature without division; person without mixing; name and action without falsifying the person's existence without demolishing; is to exist firmly in unity and trinity.
መለኮት የሚሉ ግን፤ ወላዲ ባሕርይ ተወላዲ ባሕርይ ሠራጺ ባሕርይ እያሉ የአካላትን ስምና ግብር ለባሕርይ ሰጥተው ይፈታሉ: But those who say "3 divinity" give the names and actions of persons to nature, saying "begetting nature, begotten nature, proceeding nature," and they absolve it.

[1] ፡አካል ገጽ፤ አቋቋም ቁሙት፤ አኳኾን ኹነታ: Person, face; stature, standing; appearance, condition.
አካል ማለት ባሕርይና ግብርን መልክንና ስምን ኹሉን ሰብስቦ የሚይዝ፤ ሰብሳቢ ገዥ አዛዥ ባለቤት ማለት ነው፤ የአካልን ፍች ተመልከት: Person means that which gathers and holds nature, action, appearance, and name everything; it means gatherer, ruler, commander, owner; see the meaning of person.
እግዚአብሔር በዓለ ሠለስቱ ህላዌ አሐዱ በባሕርይሁ ወሥልጣኑ ወመለኮቱ: "God, owner of the three Beings, is one in his nature, power, and divinity."
እስመ አበዊነ ሰመይዎ በዝንቱ ገጸ መካን (በአንቀጸ ተዋሕዶ): Because our fathers called him in this barren face (in the chapter of Tehawedo).
ለህላውያት አካላት፤ አትናቴዎስኒ ረሰየ ህላዌ አሐደ አካለ ዘእግዚአብሔር ቃል ዘተሠገወ: To the existing Persons; Athanasius also made the being one person of the Word of God who was incarnate.
እስመ ህላዌ ይትበሃል በእንተ ክዋኔ ወአካል፤ ወክዋኔሂ ይትበሃል ከመ ውእቱ ህላዌ ዘያስተጋብእ ኵሎ፤ ወአካልሰ ዘአሐዱ ህላዌ ውእቱ: Because being is said for the sake of act and person; and act is also said as that being which gathers everything; and person is of one being.
ተውሕዶ አንድ ኾነ አካል ማለት ነው፤ ገጽ አቋቋም ቁመት ያልነው የአካል ባሕርይ ይባላል፤ አካል ያለ ገጽ ያላቋቋም አይገኝምና: Teuhdo means one person; what we call face, stature, and height is called the nature of the person; because the person is not found without a face and without stature.
እስመ በዝየ ይሰመይ አካል ህላዌ አካሉ ለወልድ፤ ወአኮ ውእቱ ህላዌ ዘያስተጋብኦሙ ለሥሉስ ቅዱስ፤ ወበእንተዝ ተሠገወ እግዚ ቃል (አክሲ።ሃይ ፡አበ ፡ብን።ዲዮ።መቃር): Because in this, person, being, his person is named for the Son; and it is not that being which gathers them for the Holy Trinity; and therefore the Lord Word became incarnate (Aksi; Hay Abe Bin; Dio; Meqar).
ህላዌን የአካል ባሕርይ ማለት አካልን አቋቋም ብሎ ነው: It is saying being the nature of person, and person the stature.

ኅቡረ ህላዌ ምስለ አብ በመለኮቱ፤ ኅቡረ ህላዌ ምስሌነ በትስብእቱ: "Joint being with the Father in his divinity; Joint being with us in his humanity."
ወኢ ተወለጠ ህላዌ ቃል ኀበ ህላዌ ሥጋ ወህላዌ ሥጋ ኀበ ህላዌ ቃል፤ ዳእሙ ይሄልዉ ክልኤቱ ህላውያት በበ ህላዌሆሙ እንበለ ውላጤ (ተረ ፡ቄር።ሃይ ፡አበመጠሊ): "And the being of the Word was not altered to the being of the flesh, nor the being of the flesh to the being of the Word; but the two beings remain each in their own being without distortion" (Tere Qer; Hay Abe Meteli).
ህላዌ በአንቀጸ ተዋሕዶ አካል ስለ ኾነ አሐዱ እንዲባል በአንቀጸ ተዐቅቦም ባሕርይ ስለ ኾነ ክልኤቱ ይባላል፤ እውነተኛው የሊቃውንት ዐዋጅ ይህ ነው: Hilawé (being) in the chapter of Tehawedo (union) is person, so that it is said Ahadu (one), while in the chapter of Te'aqebo (preservation) it is nature, so that it is called Kile'itu (two); this is the true proclamation of the scholars.
ወኢ ተዋሐደበ መንፈቀ ህላዌ ወኢኮነ ካልኦ እንስሳ አንትጎ፤ አላ ምሉእ ወፍዱም፤ አሐዱ ህላዌ ይገብር ክልኤቱ ህላውያት (ሃይ ፡አበ ፡ኤፍ): "And half of being was not united, and it did not become another animal in Antigo; but full and complete; in one being it does what the two beings do" (Hay Abe Ef).
አሐዱ ያለው አካል፤ ክልኤቱ ያለው ባሕርይ እንደሆነ አስተውል: Understand that the one that has Ahadu (one) is the person; the one that has Kile'itu (two) is the nature.
ባሕርያት እንደሆኑ የባሕርያት ፍሬ ግብራትም ናቸው፤ ተወላዲው አካል ሲኾን ልደቱ እንዲባል፤ ግብሩም ሠሪው አንድ ሲኾን እንደ መሣሪያው እንደ ባሕርይ ይባላል: Just as the natures are 2, so are the fruits of natures, the actions, are 2; just as the begotten is 1 person, so that it is said his birth is 2; similarly, his action, the doer is one, but like the instrument, like the nature, it is called 2.
ግብርን አሐዱ ማለት ልደትንም አሐዱ ያሰኛል፤ ልደት ቅሉ ግብር ነውና መባሉ ስለዚህ ነው፤ ግብር ባሕርይን፤ ገቢር አካልን ይከተላል: To say action is Ahadu (one) makes birth also Ahadu (one); because birth is essentially action, therefore it is said 2; action follows nature; while doer follows person.
ቦቱ መንክራት ወዓዲ ቦቱ ሕማማት ወውእቱ አሐዱ ህላዌ፤ መለኮቱ ይገብር መንክራተ ወበ ትስብእቱ ይትዌከፍ ሕማማተ: "There are miracles and also there are sufferings and he is one being; in his divinity he does miracles and in his humanity he endures sufferings."
ርኢከ ዘከመ እፎ ሎቱ ክልኤቱ ግብራት ኅቡረ: "Did you see how to him the two actions are joint?"
ወዐቀበ እሎንተ ክልኤተ ግብራተ በኵሉ ዘመን: "And he preserved those two actions in all the ages."
ወኢ ንቤ ከመ መንክራት ለአሐዱ ወሕማማት ለካልኡ፤ አላ እሙንቱ ለዝንቱ አሐዱ ባሕቲቱ: "And let us not say that miracles are for one and sufferings for another; but they are truly for this one alone."
ከመ አምላክነ ወእግዚእነ ኢየሱስ ክርስቶስ አሐዱ አካል ሥግው ወአሐዱ ህላዌ ዘኀብረ ኵለንታሁ ለወልድ ውእቱ ቃል ወነፍስ ወሥጋ ወልቡና ወምግባር: "Just as our God and Lord Jesus Christ is one incarnate person and one being that has united all that is to the Son, who is word and soul and body and mind and deed."
ህላዌ ዘኀብረ ኵለንታሁ ያለውን ቃል ሥጋ ነፍስ ልቡና ምግባር ብሎ ቈጠረ፤ ልቡና ምግባር የሌለው ሌላ ህላዌ ይኾናል እንጂ የሰው ህላዌ አይባልምና (ሃይ ፡አበ ፡ጎር።ኤጲ።መቃር): He counted word, body, soul, mind, and deed as Hilawé Zehabre Kuléntahu (Being who has united everything); for without mind and deed it would be another being but not be called human being (Hay Abe Gor, Epi, Meqar).

[3] ፡ጠቅላይ ስም፤ ኵላዊ አስተጋባኢ፤ ስምነቱ ካቶሊክ እንደ ማለት ነው: General name; universal gatherer; its name is like saying Catholic.
ለፈጣሪ ሳይቀር ሰማይ ምድር ላለ ፍጥረት ኹሉ ይነገራል።
ወአእ አምሩ እስመ ስመ ህላዌ ይትበሃል ገጸ መካን ህየንተ ህላዌ ኵሉ ዘመድ (ሃይ ፡አበ ፡ዲዮ): "And know, because the name of being is said in barren face instead of the being of all relatives" (Hay Abe Dio).
አስተጋባኢ ስም ስለ ኾነ እንደ ጠባይ ዕለ አካል በሚመችበት አካል፤ ባሕርይ በሚመችበት ባሕርይ ይባላል: Because it is a gathering name, like Tebabé on the person when it is suitable for the person; on the nature it is said when it is suitable for the nature.
ባማርኛ ሌላ ስም ታጥቶለት እንጂ አካልና ባሕርይ መካከል ሌላ የተለየ ማእከላዊ ስም ያስፈልገው ነበር: Otherwise, another name would have been robbed for it in Amharic, and another separate central name between person and nature would have been needed.
ምድር ያለ የፍጥረት ኹሉ ሥር አራቱ ባሕርያት ናቸው፤ ማይ መሬት ነፋስ እሳት: The root of all creation that is on earth is the four natures; water, earth, wind, fire.
እሊህ አራቱ እየተዋሐዱ ሌላ ዐይነት ባሕርይ፤ ሥጋን ዕንጨትን ያስገኛሉ: These four, uniting, bring about another type of nature; flesh and wood.
የተለየ የባሕርይ ስሙ ሥጋ ዕንጨት ነው፤ ባራቱ ባሕርያት ተውሕዶ ሥጋ ኹኖ ዕንጨት ኹኖ የቆመበት ውሳጣዊ አስተጋባኢ ስሙ ህላዌ ተብሏል: The name of the separate nature is flesh, wood; his inner gathering name, in which he stood as flesh and stood as wood in the union of the four natures, is called Being.
«ጽርኣውያን ህላዌን ኡስያ፤ ባሕርይን ፊሲስ ይሉታል: The Greeks call Being Usia; and Nature Fisis."
ላቲናውያንም ህላዌን ሱብስታንስያ፤ ባሕርይን ናቱራ ይሉታል: "The Latins also call Being Substantia; and Nature Natura."
አካል ባሕርይ አይነገርም፤ ባሕርይም ለአካል አይነገርም፤ ህላዌ ግን ኹለቱ አንድ ኹነው የቆሙበት አስተጋባኢ ስም ስለ ኾነ ኹለቱ ኹሉ ይነገራል።: The person is not said of the nature; and the nature is not said of the person; but Being is a gathering name in which the two stand as one, therefore it is said of all the two.
የወጣበት የስምነቱም ምስጢር ግን አጥብቆ አጥልቆ ሲመረመር፥ አኳዃንንና አቋቋምን የተዋሕዶውን ጽናትና አናዎር ያሳያል እንጂ፥ አካልን ብቻ ባሕርይንም ብቻ አያሳይም: But the mystery of the name from which it came out, when strictly and deeply investigated, shows the appearance and the standing, the firmness of the union, and the residence, but does not show the person alone or the nature alone.
የንጨት ኹሉ ባሕርይ አንድ ሲኾን ህላዌው እየቀለ ነው፤ ብርቱ አለ ግብዝ አለ: When the nature of all wood is one, the Being is variable; there is strong and there is false.
ካራቱ ባሕርያት የተፈጠረ ኹሉ እንዲህ ነው: All that is created from Karatu Bahriyat (four natures) is like this.
የመላእክትና የነፍስ ባሕርይ ግን መሠረት የለውም እም ኀበ አልቦ ነው፤ መላእክትን ዘይሬስዮሙ መንፈሰ ወነደ እሳት ቢላቸው፤ የሚራቀቁ የሚማወቁ ተለኣክያን ማለት ነው እንጂ፥ እኛ ከምናውቀው ነፋስና እሳት ማለት አይዶለም፤ ከዚህ ስቢኾን እንደ መጠኑ ባየናቸው በሰማናቸው ነበር: But the nature of angels and soul does not have a foundation, it is Im Ḫebe Albo (from where there is nothing); if they say about angels "Zeyresyomu Menfese Wenede Isat" (who made them spirit and flame of fire), it means "who move around and know each other", it is not meaning the wind and fire that we know; if it were this, we would have seen them and heard them according to their size.
አካላውያን ኹነው ተፈጥረዋል፤ ባሕርያቸው ከአካላቸው አይቀድምም፤ የአካላቸው አኳኾን ህላዌ ይባላል፤ የነፍስም እንደ መላእክት ነው: They are created as bodily; their nature does not precede their body; the appearance of their body is called Hilawé (Being); the soul is also like the angels.
የነፍስ ባሕርይ ወደ ሥጋ ባሕርይ ወደ ግዘፍ ሳይሳብ፤ የሥጋም ባሕርይ ወደ ነፍስ ባሕርይ ወደ ርቀት ሳይሳብ፤ ነፍስና ሥጋ ተውሕደው አካል ህላዌ ሰው ይገኛ: If the nature of the soul does not pull towards the nature of the body towards the bulk, and the nature of the body does not pull towards the nature of the soul towards the distance; the soul and the body unite and 1 person, 1 being, 1 man is found.
እስመ ክዋኔሁ ለሰብእ ውእቱ ግብር እለ ኢይትማሰሉ በይናቲሆሙ ወኢ የኀብሩ፤ ቃልኒ ኢየ ተኀርምስለ ሥጋ ከመ ኢተኀብር ነፍስ ምስለ ሥጋ እንዘ ብእሲሁ አሐዱ እም ነፍስ ወሥጋ ወአሐዱ ገጽ እም ዘኢ የኀብሩ ግብራት: "Because the act of man is the deed that does not resemble in their separation and does not unite; and word is also not mingled with flesh as the soul is not mingled with flesh while his man is one from soul and flesh and one face from that which the deeds do not unite."
ነፍስና ሥጋ ተውሕደው አንድ ኹነው የቆሙበት አካል ህላዌ ይባላል፤ ቃልም ተለየ አካሉ የተለየ ህላዌ አለው፤ አስቀድመን እንደ ተናገርነ: The person in which the soul and body unite and stand as one is called Being; the Word also has a separate Being in his separate person; as we said before.

[4] መኖሪያ መኗሪያ: Dwelling, residence.
ምስጢሩ አናዎር ካለው ይገባ: Its mystery is that it must have Anawer.
ኀበ ህላዌሁ ተመይጠ ልሳኑ ውቁይ፤ ኀበ ህላዌሁ አግብኦ (ስንክ ፡ጥር፭): "To where his being is, his tongue returns; he gathers him to his being" (Sink Tir 5).
ዳግመኛም ባሕርይ ያለ አካል፤ አካል ያለ ባሕርይ ብቻ ብቻውን አይኖርምና አንዱ ላንዱ ቦታ መኾኑን ያሳያል።: Again, nature without person; and person without nature do not live alone by themselves, so that it shows that one is the place of the other.

[5] ፡ሥራ፤ ግብር: Work, action.
ህላዌ ግፍዕ፤ ግፍ ሥራ ግዙፍ ግፍ (ሔኖ፺፩ ፡፭): Being of oppression; the work of oppression, great oppression (Henoch 91:5).
እንዲህ ኾነ ህላዌንና ጠባይዕን ፍች በየ ስልቱ ማስተዋል ይገባል፤ ኹለቱ ኹሉ ናቸውና: If it is like this, it is necessary to understand the meaning of Being and of Tebay' by their respective methods; because all two are one.

 

ህልው (Hilwu):
(ዋን ዋት ልት) ያለ የኖረ፤ የነበረ፤ የሚኖር ነባር፤ ቀዋሚ እውነት: (Wan Wat Lit) Who is, who lived; who was; who lives, existing; permanent truth.
ፈጠረ ፍጥረተ ይኩን ህልወ: "He created creation, let it be existing."
መድኀኒነ ዘህልው እም ቅድመ ዓለም: "Our Savior who exists from before the world."
ብዕል ህልው: "Existing custom."
ንርአይ ለእመ ነገሩ ህልው: "Let us see if his word is existing."
ህልወ ቃለ: "Existing word."
አማን ህልወ እብለክሙ (ጥበ፪ ፡፲፯።ዲድ ፡፴፮።ዮሴፍ።ምሳ፳፪ ፡፳፩።ዮሐ፲፮ ፡፯): "Truly, I say to you that it exists." (Wisdom 2:17; Deed 36; Joseph; Proverbs 22:21; John 16:7).

ህርብድና (Hirbidna):
መቀማጠል፤ ቅምጥልነት፤ የቅንጦት ሥራ: To wriggle; wriggling; work of luxury.
ወለእመ ኮንከ ዘመነ ንካሁ ለህርብድና ጕዳይ እም እለ ይንዕውዎ (ማር ፡ይሥ፪ ፡፲፪): "And if you are one of those who hate the suffering of luxury that we touch" (Mar. Yis 2:12).

ህቦ (Hibo):
ወጨፎ እንደ አሸዋና እንደ ጠጠር ያለ የዝናብ ቅንጣት፤ ጠል ጤዛ ጠፈጠፍ፤ ከዝናም በኋላ ሣር ቅጠል ላይ የሚታቈር የሚንቈረዘዝ፤ ሕንባበ ማዶ: Wechefo (drizzle), a speck of rain like sand and gravel; dew, damp, splatter; that which gathers and drips on grass and leaves after rain; Himbabe Mado.
(ግጥም) የተንቈረዘዘው ደምኸ እንደ ጤዛ፤ ስብስቴ ግን ቡልጊዮ ርጊስ ወሬዛ: (Poem) "Your dripping blood is like dew; but my collection is the green of Bulgiyo Girgis."
እንዘ ይትኀደግ ህቦ: "While He leaves Hibo."
እም ነቅዐ ቅዳሴ እርወ ይወ እሰቀይ ህቦ (ዘፀ፲፮ ፡፲፫።ደራሲ): "From the altar of Qidasé, let it drizzle on the Earth and turn into Hibo" (Exodus 16:13; Derasi).

ህኵክ (Hkwk):
(ካን ካትክክት) ህዉክ፤ ወጪ ወራጅ፤ ወላዋይ: (Kan Katkikt) Hwuk; expense, expenditure; wasteful.
ኅሲና ህክክት (ፊልክ ፡፶፬): "Desire and wasteful" (Philk 54).

ህዉክ (Hwuk):
(ካን ካትውክት) የታወከ ሁከታም፤ ሁከተኛ፤ ርጋታ ጸጥታ የሌለው: (Kan Katwukit); Disturbed, riotous; agitator; without calmness, silence.
ክልኤ ልቡ ህዉክ ውአቱ ኵሉ ፍኖቱ: "Whose heart is double is disturbed in all his ways."
ህዉካን ወፅሩዓን እለ አልቦሙ ምግባረ ሠናይ (ያዕ፩ ፡፰።ቀሌ): "Disturbed and noisy, who have no good deeds" (James 1:8; Qele).

ህየ [1] (Hiye):
የቦታ ዐጸፋ፤ በዚያ ከዚያ ወደዚያ፤ ሩቅን ያሳያል፤ እንደ ከሃ ነው: Place repayment; there, from there, to there; it shows distance; like Keha.
ተከለ ገነተ ወሤሞ ህየ: "He planted a garden and placed him there."
ህየ ይሠየማ ወህየ ይትዐቀባ ነፍሳቲሆሙ ለጻድቃን: "There they are delighted, and there the souls of the righteous are kept."
ይወፅእ እም ሥራቅ የሐውር ምዕራብ ከመ ይስቂበ ህየ: "There is one who comes out of the east and goes to the west so that he may mock in Hiye."
ተንሥእ ወፃእ ሐቅለ ወበ ህየ እንግረከ (ዘፍ፪ ፡፰።ቅዳ ግሩ።አት።ሕዝ፫ ፡፲፱): "Arise and go to the field, and there I will speak to you" (Genesis 2:8; Qida Gru; At; Ezekiel 3:19).

() ህየት (Hiyet):    
ቸል ማለት፤ ቸልታ ስንፍና: To neglect; negligence, laziness.
እም ህየት ወእም ፅርዐት (ሊጦን): "From negligence and from dispute" (Liton).

ህየንተ [1] (Hiyente):
:- ፡ስለ ፈንታ;–ሀየየ ሀየ: - For the sake of; - Hayeye Haye.

[2]:-(ህየ እንተ);- (Hiye Ente):
ዐቢይ ደቂቅ አገባብ: Great and small usage.
ህየ እንተ ተጋጥሞ አንድ ኅርመት ኹኗል፤ እስለ ተጐረደ መጋጠሚያው አያስታውቅም፤ ይህን የመሰለ ብዙ አለ: Hiye and Ente have collided and become one Hirmet; because it is broken, its collision does not show; there is a lot like this.
ስለ ፈንታ እንደ ኾናል፤ ስለ ፈንታ አንድ ወገን ናቸው፤ ምስጢሩ እንደ ፍዳ ነው፤ ለውጥ ሤጥ ቤዛ ካሳ ዕዳ ብድር ያሳያል: It is like "instead of"; and because "for and in" are one side; its mystery is like Fida (price); it shows change, selling, ransom, compensation, debt, loan.
አንቀጽ ሲገባ ዘንበርከ ፋች ያደርጋል፤ አንዳንድ ጊዜም ብቻውን ይገባ: When it enters in the article, it makes Zenberke Fach; and sometimes it enters alone.
ምንተ ተዐስዮሙ ህየንተ ገብ: "What will you repay them for what they have done?"
ህየንተ ትረድኦ አቅበጽካሁ: "The one who helped him, I snatched him."
ህየንተ ተቀንዩ: "For what they strove."
ህየንተ ጻመወ (ሢራ፯ ፡፳፰።ቀሌ።ኵፋ ፡፵፰።ስንክ ፡ጥቅ፬): "For what he labored." (Sira 7:28; Qele; Kufa 48; Sink Tiq 4).
ዘር ስም ሲገባ፤ ፈደዩኒ እኪተ ህየንተ ሠናይት: When it enters with lineage and name; "They rewarded me evil instead of good."
ህየንተ አበው ወልዱ ደቂቅ: "Instead of your fathers, your sons will be for you."
ተቀንየ ያዕቆብ ህየንተ ራሔል ይላል: It says "Jacob strove for Rachel."
እንደ ኾን፤ ህየንተ ቈፅለ ዕፅ ከመ አነ: Being like; "Instead of the leaves of the tree, like me."
አሕመል ምልል ሊተ ነፍስየ ህየንተ ዕፅ ትክልት ማእከለ ገነት ይላል (አርጋ): "Make my soul red like a tree planted in the midst of the garden" (Arga).
ህየንቴሁ ሀብሎ ዘረዝር፤ ስለ ርሱ ፈንታ፤ ርሱ ፈንታ፤ እንደርሱ ያሰኛል።: Saying "Hiyehéu Hablo," it means in place of him; in his place; it makes him like him.
ሀቦሙ ህየንቴየ ህየንቴከ (ማቴ፲፯ ፡፳፯) (ዕር፲፱ ፡ቍ፷፱): "Give them for me and for you" (Matthew 17:27) (Ere 19: Verse 69).

ህዩይ (Hiyuy):
(ያንያት ይይት) ቸል የተባለ፤ የተናቀ: (Yaniyat Yiyit) Neglected; despised.
ቸል ያለ ቸልተኛ፤ ሰነፍ: Negligent, negligent; lazy.
መን ዘህልል ሰወ ህዩይ: "Who is Hilal is abandoned, neglected."
ፍናዊሆሙ ለህዩያን (ፊልክ ፶፬።ምሳ፲፫ ፡፲፭): "Their paths are to be neglected" (Philk 54; Proverbs 13:15).

ህዩድ (Hyud):
(ዳን ዳት ይድ) የተቀማ የተነጠቀ፤ ገንዘብ ሰው: (Dan Dat Yid) Seized, snatched; money, man.

ህዱኣዊ (Hiduawi):
ዝምተኛ ጸጥተኛ፤ ጭምት: Quiet, silent; meek.
ልብ ህዱአዊ (ፊልክ ፡፻፩): "A quiet heart" (Philk 101).

ህዱእ (Hidu'):
(ኣን ኣት ድእት) ዝም ጸጥ ያለ፤ ያረፈ የረጋ፤ ሁከት የሌለው፤ ከመ መንግሥትየ ህዱእ: (An At Di'it) Quiet, silent; rested, calm; without uproar; like my quiet kingdom.
ህዱኣን ዕሩፋን: "Quiet and restful."
ይኩን ህዱአ አዕይንት: "Let the eyes be quiet."
ኢኮነ ህዱአ ቃሉ ወበ ምግባሩ: "Who was not quiet in his word and in his deed."
ከመ ህዱእ ወበ ጽምው ይኩንን ብረትነ (አስቴ ፡፫።መሳ፲፰ ፡፯።ፈ ፡መ ፡፳፮ ፡፰።ቀሌ።ድጓ): "So that our property may be judged in quietness and in silence" (Esther 3; Judges 18:7; F.M. 26:8; Qele; Digwa).

ህዳር (Hidar):
ቁሙ፤ኅዳር: Literally; - Hidar.

ህድመት (Hidmet):
ህድመት፤ ማንቀላፋት: Hidmet; to doze.
ክቡድ እንቅልፍ፤ እንደ ሞት ያለ: Heavy sleep; like death.
ደየ እግዚእ ህድመተ ላዕሌሁ ወኖመ: "And the Lord gave a deep sleep upon him and he slept."
ሞት ውእቱ ህድመት ወንዋም: "Death is slumber and sleep."
ከመ ሞት ህድመት ክቡድ: "Like death in deep slumber."
ወሀቡ ለአዕይንቲሆሙ ምንተ ጊህድመተ (ኩፋ ፡፫።አፈ ፡ተ፬።አርጋ።ስንክ ፡ኅዳ፲፯): "They did not give their eyes over to slumber" (Kufa 3; Afe T4; Arga; Sink Hida 17).

ህድአት (Hid'at):
ዝም ጸጥ ማለት: It means to be quiet and silent.
ዝምታ ጸጥታ፤ ዕረፍት ርጋታ፤ ዳታ ቀስታ ዝግታ፤ ጭምትነት: Silence, quiet; rest, calm; Data, slow, quiet; meekness.
ህድአት አርምሞ: "Quiet and rest."
መፍቀሬ ህድአት: "Lover of silence."
መፍትው ለነ ንሑር ህድአት: "It is fitting for us to go in quiet."
መፍትው አንስት ይትርአያ አርኣያ ህድአት: "It is fitting for women to be seen in the example of quiet."
ፈታሒ አጥረየ ህድአት ትዕግሥት (ጥበ፲፰ ፡፲፬።ዮሴፍ።አፈ ፡ተ፴፬።ፈ ፡መ ፡፴፬።ፍ ፡ነ ፡፵፪ ፡፪): "A judge who acquired quiet and patience." (Wisdom 18:14; Joseph; Afe T34; F.M. 34; F.N. 42:2).

 

ህጉል (Hgul):
(ላት ላን ጕልት) የታጐለ የተጓጐለ፤ መና የቀረ: (Lat Lan Gult) Was caused to stumble, stumbled; remained empty.
የጠፋ ጥፋ ብልሹ፤ ከንቱ ቦታው የታጣ፤ ኰበለለ: Lost, destroyed, corrupt; in vain, vanished from its place; made worthless.
ሕዝብ ህጕላነ ምክር: "People who spoil counsel."
ከመ ይኩን ህጉለ ዕሴትከ: "So that your wealth may not be spoiled."
ይትአመን ብዕሉ ህጉል: "Whoever believes in his custom is corrupt."
መድኀኒሆሙ ህጉላን: "Their savior to the spoiled ones."
ህጉላነ ሚጥ (ዘዳ፴፪ ፡፳፰።ሢራ፰ ፡፲፱።ሲኖዶ።ዮዲ፱ ፡፲፩።ኪዳ): "The spoiled of the earth" (Deuteronomy 32:28; Sira 8:19; Sinodo; Judith 9:11; Kida).

ህጕለት (Hgwet):
መታጐል፤ መቅረት: To be stumbled; to be lacking.
መጥፋት አጠፋፍ፤ ጥፋት (ሔኖ፰ ፡፬።፳፪ ፡፲፪): Destruction, destroying; destruction (Henoch 8:4; 22:12).
ህጕለተ ነፍስ (ሲኖዶ): Destruction of the soul (Sinodo).

ህጕሬ (Hgure):
ቀይ ቀለም; Red color. – ሕጕሬ (Hgure).

ህግሩት (Hgrut):
ተጋትጉ፤ ዐሳቢ ቈርቋሪ (አርጋ): Of the one who strives; thoughtful, concerned (Arga).

ህግርትና (Hgritna):
ትጋት ሐሳብ፤ ትጉህ እት ዐሳቢነት (መጽ ፡ምስ): Effort, thought; hard-working ne, thoughtful (Mets Mis).

ሆሄ [1] (Hohe):
(ሆይ ) ስመ ፊደል መልከ ፊደል፤ : (Hoy He) Name of the letter, the form of the letter; H.
ሆይ የግእዝ፤ የዕብራይስጥ ነው: Hoy is Ge'ez; He is Hebrew.

[2] ፡ሆሄ (Hohe):
(ዐረ. ሁወ ) ውእቱ ማለት ነው: (Are. Huwe He) It means W'itu He.
ኦሪትን ክፍልና ብሔር፤ ዘፍ እስከ ዘዳ ፊደል ቍጥር ቈጥር፤ ወለ መጻሕፍተ ኦሪትኒ (ትእምርታቲሆሙ) ክልኤቱ ፊደላት እሙንቱ: A division and nation of the Torah; when counting from Genesis to Deuteronomy in letter number; and to the books of the Torah also (their signs) are in the two letters.
ፊደለት እም ርተ ኦሪት ቀዳማዊት አ፤ ዳግማዊት ቤ፤ ሣልስት ጋ፤ ራብዕት ዳ፤ ኃምስት ቃለ ኋላ፤ ውእቱ እንደ ማለት ሆሄ ኍልቈ መጻሕፍት ይላል ( ፡ነ ፡መቅ): And the letters, signs of the Torah, first is A; and second is B; and third is G; and fourth is D; and fifth is He, speech after; and he says "just like w'itu He, H'holqe Mesahift (the number of the books)" (F.N. Meq).
ይህም ፭ኛ ፊደል ነውና ብቻውን ፭ቱ መጻሕፍት ቍጥር ነው ያሰኛል: This He is the 5th letter, so it is saying the number of the five books alone.
አይሁድም ፭ቱን መጻሕፍት ዝርዝር ሖማሽ፤ አኃዝ ይሏቸዋል፤ ማለት ነው: The Jews also call the five books in detail Homash; in number He, it means 5.

ሆህያት (Hohiyat):
ፊደሎች፤ ፊደል ስሞችና መልኮች፤ እስከ ወይም እስከ ያሉት መላው ባንድነት: Letters; the names and forms of letters; all that are from H to Ho or to P in unity.
ፊደላተ ዔቦር ኵራቸውና መክብባቸው አሌፍ ስለ ኾነ መክብባቸው ስም አሌፋት ተብለው እንዲጠሩ፤ ፊደላተ ግእዝም ሰላማ ወዲህ መክብባቸው ሆሄ (ሆይ ) ስለ ኾነ ሆሄ ሆህያት ይባላሉ: Just as the letters of Eber were named Aletfat by the name of their Kebib (chief), because their first and chief was Alef; so too the letters of Ge'ez from Salama onwards are called Hohiyat (letter) by Hohe (Hoy He), because their Kebib is Hohe (Hoy He).
ቃሉ ብዙ ኾን ላንድም ብዙም ይነገራል፤ ላንድ ሲነገር ሰባትነቱን፥ለ ብዙ ሲነገር መላዉን ያሳያል: When the word is plural, it is said both for one and for many; when it is said for one, it shows its sevenness, when it is said for many, it shows all.
ሆህያተ ፊደል እስመ ሆህያተ ቤት ዋዌ አሐዱ ውእቱ: "Letters of letter because letters of house and Wawe are one."
ከመ ሆህያተ አልፋት ከውን ኀበ ኵሎሙ ሆህያት: "Just as there are letters of Alfat for all the letters."
ማኅደር ስም ዮሙ ሆህያተ ጽርእ እም አልፋ ቤጣ ጋማ፤ አበገ (አፈ ፡ድ፰ ፡፱።ሥር ፡ጳኵ): "And for the dwelling let them name them in the letters of Tseri (Greek) from Alfa and Beta and Gama; Abege." (Afe D8:9. Sir Paku)
ይቤ ጠቢብ ቀሪጦን፤ እስመ ሴት ቀዲሙ ከሠተ ሆህያተ ጽሕፈት አዖቀ ልሳነ ዕብራዊ ( ፡ወ ፡ሐ ፡ገ፮): "And the wise Qeriton said; because Seth first discovered the letters of writing and knew the Hebrew language" (Gi Wo Ha Ge6).

ሆሙ (Homu):
() ሩቅ ወንደች ዝርዝር ጠቃሽ: (Hu) Distant man, detail, indicator.

መስፈሪያ; Measuring; – ሖሜር (Homer).

ሆሳዕና (Hosa'na):
(ዕብ. ሆሺዓህናእ) አንቀጽ ጥሬ፤ አድኅነነ አ፤ አድነና፤ አድነንኮ፤ እባክኸ አድነን፤ አንፍች ተመልከት (ማር፲፩ ፡፲።ዮሐ፲፪ ፡፲፫): (Heb. Hoshi'ah-Na') Article and grain; Adhinene A; Save us; We will save you; Please save us; see Anfich (Mark 11:10; John 12:13).
፡መድኀኒትነት፤ መድኀኒት መኾን፤ ወይም መባል።ሆሳዕና ወልደ ዳዊት: Savior; to be savior; or to be called. "Hosa'na to the son of David."
እም ሆሳዕናሁ አርአየ ተኣምረ መንክረ (ማቴ፳፩ ፡፬።ቅዳ ፡ጎር): "From his Hosa'na he showed wonder and miracle" (Matthew 21:4; Qida Gor).

ይቶን ሆሳዕና: "That which smites and Hosa'na."
ልብሱ እም ልሕጸ ሆሳዕና ቈጽሉ፤ ሰሌን (ስንክ ፡መስ፫): "His garment from the fibers of Hosa'na and its leaves; Selén" (Sink Mes 3).

ሆሴዕ (Hosé'):
(ዕብ. ሆሼዕ) ሰው ስም፤ ነቢይ ንጉሥ: (Heb. Hoshé') A person's name; prophet, king.
አድኀነ ባልሐ፤ ረድአ አውፅአ እመ ሥገርት ማለት ነው (ሆሴ፩ ፡፩።፬ነገ ፡፲፭ ፡፴): It means "Adhḫene Balḫa; Rede'a Awts'a Ime Segert" (Hosea 1:1; 4 Kings 15:30).

ሆባይ (Hobay):             
(ያት፤ አህቡይ) አንጨት አሞራ፤ ሳቢ ሳጭ ላት፤ ጥንብ ፈላጊ (ዘሌ፩ ፡፲፬።ዘዳ፲፬ ፡፲፫።ኢዮ፴፱ ፡፳፮።ሔኖ፹፱ ፡፲።፺ ፡፪ ፡፬ ፡፲፩ ፡፲፫): (Yat; Ahbuiy) Anchét Amora; Sabi Sach Lat; carrion seeker (Leviticus 1:14; Deuteronomy 14:13; Job 39:26; Henoch 89:10; 90:2, 4, 11, 13).
ስምነቱ አስተጋባኢ ነው፤ ለሚከንፍና ለሚረብ ለሚያንዣብብ ኹሉ ኾናል።: Its name is gathering; it is for everything that flies and rises, that hovers.
፡ሆባይ፤አሞራ፤ ዝንጀሮ; Hobay; - bird; monkey. – ሀዊብ ሆበ (Hawib Hobe).
(ዕብ. ቆፍ።ሱር. ቁፋ።ዐረ. ቂርድ) ዝንጀሮ ጨላዳ፤ ብዙ ወገን ሰው የሚመስል፤ ዐይነት ያለው: (Heb. Qof; Sur. Qufa; Are. Qird) Monkey, gelada; in many ways resembles man; has two types, white, black, and dark.
አምሳለ ሆባይ፤ ሆባያት አጽዐቅዎሙ: "In the image of Hobai; Hobaiyat confined them."
ይጥለ አስገድከ ሆባየ አክነስከ ብፁዕ አንተ አባ ዮሐኒ: "And drop your body on us and Hobaye Akneske is blessed, you Abba Yohani."
አህቡየ (ገድ ፡ተክ።መዋሥ።፪ዜና ፡፱ ፡፳፩): And Ahbuiye (Ged Tek; Mewas; 2 Chronicles 9:21).
(ዐማርኛ) ቁሙ፤ ሆባይ፤ አሆ የሚል ጨፋሪ፤ እንደ ዝንጀሮ የሚያወካ: (Amharic) Literally; Hobay; a dancer who says Ho Aho; who disturbs like a monkey.

ሆን (Hon):
( ሆሙ) ሩቅ ሴቶች ዝርዝር ጠቃሽ: (Hu Homu) Distant women, detail, indicator.

ሆይ (Hoy):                           
(ዐማራ ዕብራ) ቁሙ፤ ጥሪ ቃል ቅርብ ላለ ሰሚ፤ አቤቱቶ፤ ንጉሥ ሆይ: (Amara and Hebrew) Literally; word of calling for one who is nearby hearing; appeal; O king.
ፍችው ጭራሽ እንደ ነውና፤ ኦንና ኦን ተመልከት: Its meaning is completely like O, see Onna and O On.

ሆይሀውይ (Hoy Hawi):
(ዕብ. ሆዌ፤ ውስጠ ) ስመ ፊደል ኃምስ : (Heb. Howé; Wiste Ze) Name of the fifth letter H.
ሀላዊ ህልው ዘሀሎ፤ ወይም ከዋኒ ኩውን ዘኮነ ማለት ነው: It means Halawi Hilwu Zehalo; or Kewani Kuwun Zekone.
ሀለወና ኮነ ዕብራይስጥ አንድ ወገን ናቸው፤ ሀያህ ይህዬህ ብሎ ሀለወ ይሄሉ፤ ኮነ ይከውን ያሰኛልና ሆይ ሀውይ አህያ ይሁዋ ከዚህ የወጣ ነው: Halewe and Kone are of one side in Hebrew; because Hayah, Yihyeh, says Halewe Yehelu; Kone Yikeyun makes Hoi, Hawi, Ahiya, and Yihuwa come from this.

ሆድ (Hod):      
(ዕብ. ጸዳል ውበት፤ ክብር ምስጋና) ቁሙ፤ ከርሥ (ዐማርኛ): (Heb. Tsedal Beauty; glory, praise) Literally; Kirs (Amharic).
